I have installed the vapor tach last year and ive been very happy with it.  Only issue is that the revs are very jumpy and not presice.  I want to install a small tachometer for the revs...would anyone have a recommendation for me?

Contact the manufacturer. I think there is a resistor you can add to fix the problem.
