Still winning!!!!

Cut the mounting holes so the little plastic cover clips in nicely to the ignition switch and elongated the mounting hole so it tucks away a bit more.

You are the Winmeister lately Pete! :thumb:

peteGS

It certainly appears that way!

Committed a big tidiness in the shed yesterday, screwed some timber to the base of the mould, then started cutting chunks of foam ready to start forming the pillion area of the mould.

Pillion?! ... they just slow you down, jean the wrong way in the corners and need pee breaks all the bloody time! Lol

peteGS

Hahahahah

That area is gonna be solid fibreglass... no pillion...  :thumb:

ShowBizWolf

You are totally winning Pete  :D

I check the thread pretty much every day !
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

peteGS

 :woohoo:

Hahahahahaha

I must admit I have no progress pic's to share... so just the occasional DDP FTW is the most I can contribute at present... hahah

I am working on the harness though so I can finalise that and buy some wire.

Will post it up once done and ready to start making.

Damn electrical appliances!

Looks like the dishwasher drain pump let go Friday night so I was up to all hours mopping the floor from the overflowing water... Fingers crossed it's a cheap/easy fix... really don't want to be buying a new dishwasher!

Had a wine glass break in there a little while back and found a piece in the drain pump assembly, so I suspect it has jammed it and caused it to burn out. At least that's what I hope has happened because it's easy to replace... $75 via eBay as opposed to $400 - 500 or more for a new dishwasher...

They usually simple item to replace Pete, most machines it's easiest to remove the metal cabinet if present and then sit machine on its front for easy pump access... but if it's pumping all over the floor you might have a pierced hose rather than a bad pump? Best to inspect and identify before ordering parts in!

peteGS

Yep looks nice and simple, on it's side is easiest for this one though. It just unclicks and two spade terminals to take off, with any luck the new pump will be here today or tomorrow. And yeah, no split hoses, the water only goes all over the floor when I open the door...  :technical:

And I forgot to share from the weekend...

Most of the foam to form the "pillion" area of the seat mould is glued in place ready to start shaping:

Once done I'll lay a couple of layers of fibreglass over the foam (after protecting it) to make the mould nice and strong ready to form the actual pan.

Got the front of the rear inner tray/guard tidied up and drilled the holes so the front inner guard can bolt to it. I'll use nicer stainless fasteners when it's done.

And a profile shot of how neat I reckon the ignition switch looks now I have it mounted properly:

Good work on the seat! :thumb:

Check that the broken glass hasn't just left a shard in the sump and then gone in to block the impeller from spinning! ... my kids left a short bamboo skewer on a plate a few years back and it did the same.... only takes light pressure to stop the impeller! ;)

peteGS

All seemed clear... but I will double check before re-assembling. Cheers for the tip!!  :thumb:

It gets plenty of water in though so I don't think that will be an issue.

I've pretty much sorted the wiring diagram for the Kat, just need to do some labelling and I shall post the end result probably tomorrow.  :woohoo:

Impeller don't need to move for inflow... pressure does that!

Even with the pump right out.  Remove the pipes and look right in..  make sure you can rotate impeller by finger or gentle screwdriver pressure...

glass is a bastard sometimes..  depending on your impeller size and tolerances... a nugget of glass as big as 2 grains of cooked rice can jam them! ... especially if there are sharp pointy ends on the nugget to dig into the housing!

AMHIK!! :icon_rolleyes:

peteGS

Got ya! Well the pump ended up not solving it so after some... discussion... a replacement dishwasher will be being sought today apparently...

On another topic... wiring diagram anyone? Just need to finish labelling the colours...

And still deciding on fuse sizes but this label will go just behind the electrics tray...

Janx101

Ooh diagrams and all! Yer a bit flash ain't ya! Lol

.... discussion. .. yep I hear ya!

Janx101

Sudden thought Pete.   Exhaust hose not blocked with crud and grease?... and check the fitting under the sink where the hose pumps out to your house plumbing..  also for crud and grease blockage...  Shame to have new machine and it could flood the floor. .. just in case. Eh!

peteGS

Haha yes fancy diagrams! But very useful I feel  :thumb:

Making a wiring harness by the seat of my pants without a diagram is not an appealing idea to me... hahahha

Definitely no blockages in the lines anywhere, new dishwasher installed last night and no wet floor this morning... except of course the tap is now dripping because it's been untouched for 8 years and now has been touched...  :technical:

And I see the issue with my headlight mounting...

The new subframe's mounting ears are notably lower than another one...

The scaling's not perfect but close enough to see the difference.

Hmmmm...

More winning!!!!!  :woohoo:

Not just in LPW but also because the middle of winter temperature yesterday was 29 degress celcius which made for perfect riding weather...
