Honda mower engine loud as fudge!

was given an old assed cub cadet. saw a fire lol. ON IT. i replaced the head gasket and a couple minor gaskets it stll runs. ugly as janx but she runs.

I have a 'rover' (Australian mower brand) it had a Briggs on it that lasted 20 years after being fueled by both leaded and unleaded fuels. And I can count on one hand how many times the oil was changed. When it carked it I chucked the engine kept the base and put a turcumpsei engine on it. When it burns out ill fork out for a good Honda mower to match my Honda brush cutter.

The briggs motors are very durable, BUT you smell like unburnt fuel after you use them.  Very inefficient.  I understand the newer OHV motors run much more efficiently.

How is it they can put men on the moon and landers on Mars but they can't make a quiet generator or lawn mower, or even a souvenir card carousel that doesn't shriek and squeal when you turn it.

Yes.  Simple mechanical injection.  I think one manufacturer has one.  Subaru maybe?
