When my Gs was knocked over the little blue cover for my high beam indicator was broken off. Is there an alternative for replacement or do I have to replace the entire part itself?  thanks in advance

I wonder the same. That surround piece is like $120 new or $80 on eBay.

I would like to swap my green signal indicator for a yellow one from an older GS.

you mean just the round blue plastic button? you can only get that from a donor. I lost the high beam also, on two bikes... for md inspection it passed covered with blue painted tape (scotch tape with blue marker)

Just a thought, bingo makers would work.

here you go

That's actually a nice find.  The blue indicator is the most commonly 'lost' indicator piece... and is much harder to find - so it's usually pretty expensive to replace just that one little piece.  So $20 for that set including that blue piece is a pretty good deal, and a 'rarer' find in my eyes.  It happens so often on that particular one because that high beam indicator light is on the most - the bulb heats that plastic and adhesive much more than any of the other indicators, comes loose and flies off without ever noticing.  Best way to prevent losing it is to replace the bulb with an LED.

Lost both my indicator and high beam light covers, replaced them with translucent adhesive coloured vinyl - works well, dirt cheap, buy quality vinyl and it lasts for years... and it doesn't look too monstrous either! :P

Gee - blue indicator cap and no one bought it? 48 hours and no one wanted it? I thought sure someone would snatch up that rare thingie in an instant.

Oh, wait, I see it is now sold.

Damn I was just about to back and get it. I was waiting for my direct deposit and now it's too late. Back to the drawing board

Use a green cap and a bright blue LED.
I think I have extra green caps. No blue or amber.

You think a transparent water bottle cap and a blue marker will work because I have plenty of those

robfriedenberger

Eh yeah why not?

It might not hold up and your inspector might not like it but it will work.

newbie1993

I gotta find something the inspector will like

Green cap would look blue with a blue LED under it when on. The colored caps are not a perfect color filter.
We don't have bike inspections here in WA so not sure what your inspectors really expect to see.

you're in md aren't you? clear tape with blue marker worked for me. Actually the inspector was the
one who noticed I lost the blue cover and he advised that will work

adidasguy is talking about getting the green cap from a donor or on ebay

newbie1993

Alright thanks a lot guys. Clear tape is the next thing for me to buy

i think the main thing is to have the thing covered with something... anything see through.. for the inspector.... they dont like bare bulbs...

after that its just style to suit yourself!
