I was wondering which tool did anybody use to perform the shim replacement. I don't have the Suzuki tool.

I just bought the tool figured I would be doing quite a few valve checks over time

The motion pro tool is awesome. Remember though that the bucket will rotate as you depress it, so its best to start with the notch in the bucket a bit out of where it should be when you start to depress it.

I bought the Suzuki tool when I was checking the valves. I didn't find it too difficult to use and was well worth the $20 it cost. A small screwdrivr was also useful to free the shim from the bucket.

I also purchased a Telescopic Magnetic Pick Up Tool to make it easier to extract the shim, as well as pick it up when I dropped it, which was frequently. Finally I got some feeler gauges because my set didn't have the small sizes required.

I found it easier to bend a bit of fencing wire and stick it in the spark plug hole when the valve is open, easy as.

Raid your nearest woman's make up/beauty box for a pair of tweezers. And use it and sneak it back in.
You've heard of diesel perfume right. Yea this is burnt 10w40, just like diesel, but better.
