Can someone please talk some sense into me? I'm a little conflicted about which shock I want.

An SV650 shock can be bought here for under £40, However, I prefer the R6 shock, which will set me back £97.17+VAT and hopefully no import charges, total of £114.17, minimum.

But my favorite is a silver R6 shock which will cost a minimum of £130.

Anyone have any thoughts/feelings/opinions they'd like to share?

Don't bother with the SV shock. Get a katana or R6 shock.

Katana isn't very common, which is why I wasn't really looking. And the R6 is quite common for the gs500, but I imagine they're the red ones and I want a silver one which would be fairly unique right now. But it'll cost me £130 to import them from murica and the needle bearing costs an extra £25.

I had the katana rear shock on my GS for a couple of hundred miles [I think its a katana shock, black spring, direct bolt on..] :icon_rolleyes:. Took it back off and put on the stock one, I don't nearly weigh enough for it to benefit or 2up AT ALL on the GS, even with the lightest setting. every bump was a jab in the back.. I would seriously tell you unless you're around that 200lb mark. [90kg] give or take. Katana shock isn't gonna do anything but cause discomfort while riding.

that's just my 2 cent after all..

Thanks for the input. Sadly I'm well beyond the 200lb mark

it should work perfect for you then! I just try to get it out there for smaller riders, so they don't waste their money on the kat shock and realize it does nothing but punch you in the spine!
