Missing lower fairing clip + melted fairing

Hi all,

The PO of my bike appears to have lost the clip that hold the 2 side fairings together at the bottom.

For some reason unknown to me, they decided replacing it with a coach bolt & wingnut was a good idea.

This has rusted really badly over the years, and due to its location was impossible to remove.

I had to take an angle grinder to it, however the heat generated by me cutting the bolt ended up melting the joining between the fairing  >:(

Anyway - 2 questions:

1. Is there anywhere i can get the standard plastic clips to hold the fairings together - or is there a decent alternative?

2. Is there a way to fix the melted circle on one side that is meant to join the fairings together?

Thanks

ajensen

Mine was missing the two pieces that go through the holes in the bottom of the fairing. I got new ones at a local auto parts store (Autozone). I have done some plastic welding with a soldering iron on my fairing. There are youtube videos available.  Remember that the fumes can be toxic, so make sure you have good ventilation and don't breathe the fumes. You should have a pretty easy fix.

I can't help you with #2, but #1 is easy. Any Suzuki dealership or parts source (Bike Bandit, Partzilla, etc) will sell you the OEM plastic clip for a couple of dollars. Just find it at on an online parts fiche or ask someone at a Suzuki parts counter to order it for you.
