Burnout

hey guys,

Just want some advice as to how we i could do a "proper" burnout on my 500f. It always jerks forward. Ive done like, 2 good ones. Let me know how you guys manage. Thanks

standing with both feet on the ground and bike in first, grab 4 fingers of brake, while pulling back the brake lever open the throttle smoothly,  now the tricky part.  this whole time you were holding the clutch in, as the bike was in gear, as the bike climbs past 6 on the tach you rock up on your toes, trying to put as much weight on tour front suspention as you can,  when it is just about to bottom out, you dump the clutch, (like in a car when you just slide your foot over instead of letting it up slowly.) then open the throttle wide while still mataining high pressure on the front brake at all times.   the key on low HP bikes is to tempararely unload the weight off of the rear tire by loading the front suspention ( think of it as a teeter todder, one side goes down the other goes up.)  right at that point whare there is the least amount of weight on the rear tire is when you want to let the clutch go.  and if you have any more questions wait untill I am sober.

doe that f*** up the cluth if you do it like that? your burning it arent you? i dont know, if not, its a easy way of doing it.

Nice one, the GS makes enough torque that you dont have to rev quite that high. now, get rolling about 5 mph, lean forward of the handle bars feet on pegs and repeat, feather the front brake jsut enough to allow that 5mph forward motion, DO NOT LEAN BACK,  infact you can sit on the tank, its flat enough.   you might find the backend wanting to come around, just counterstear it  when im ready to change my rear, i will see if i can take my camera and film it, been awhile since ive done rolling burnouts.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.

i just put it in 1st gear, stand up so none of my weight is on the bike and push down on the front handlebars with my arms.....grab the front brake with your fingers and open the throttle to about 7000 rpm or more.....let out the clutch just untill it starts to grab and let it out fast.....

NOTE: if you try this and doesn't work don't blame me  :)

7,000 RPM's? Thats excessive. Thats not good for the clutch. You can just hit the throttle as you let out on the clutch. Try practicing on smooth cement if you really need to do a burnout. The tire breaks free much easier, and doesn't burn up like it would on assfault. It's much easier to do one on cement also.

Try it out on a painted section of street or a wet spot first just till you get the hang of it. The tire will break a lot easier that way.  Once you get it you will be able to do them whenever you want to buy tires.
