CGRESCUE

Hi, I am Seth, 28 years old, way up in Downeast Maine. Originally from Northern Michigan, but migrated here a few years back and haven't managed to run away yet. I work for the U.S. Coast Guard, call us water nazi's, water rangers, fish cops, they all work. I picked my GS500F in blue in June, first bike. I also ride 2-3 times a week my Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 ATV, or during the summer a 97 Seadoo PWC. Some say I am an adventure junkie, I just say I am not scared to have a good time. I drive responsibly on the road, but when it comes to the ATV in the pits or mud trails, I have been known to get stupid!!! Nice to see all the people out here!!

I just bought a 04 GS500f for my 17 year old girl as her first street bike. She has been racing MX for four years and has been on the back of my bikes almost since she has been born.  :)

SHE LOVES IT!   I have been riding for almost 40 years and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the 500 (except the annoying vibration coming through the footpegs)  The problem is now I do not ride my old beloved Nighthawk anymore. I want to ride her bike.

Will keep you posted on her progress. We got the blue one. $4700 out the door. Portland Oregon.

26 year old. Beginner biker on a 2004 GS500E. No mods
Like riding with fun. Don't like rules too much but I can respect them.. ahem... yes... follow them as well...  :(

Unwinding is so easy on a bike. It's good to feel free.

Cheers,

Tom
It's simple, most non motocyclists are road selfish and lack an understanding of how they impact the riding of smaller (yet faster) vehicles

Old fart living in SE Florida. Yep, one of the lucky ones who got pounded by two consecutive hurricanes. Bikes came through unscathed, house is another story..........

I took Mary's new GS500 in for it's 600 mile service $297. Wow so much for an economy bike.  I have been  having so much fun on her bike I bought  its big brother last week when I took hers in.

2004 Suzuki DL-1000 V-Strom. An amazing bike!

Andreas in Oz

Hello All,

Just joined GStwin.com.  Veeeery entertaining, interesting even.

Middle-aged male domestic grump with perpetual wanderlust but a bit too gutless to up & do something else for the time being.  Married to much less grumpy Susanne.  Living in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia (Oz).

We'll be getting a new GS500E each coming Saturday   :-)   .

Susanne just got her full licence, trading up from a CB250.  Me trading down from a Yamie XJ900S,  more bike than I need after losing my pillion   ;-)    .

We're  into camping touring,  got a map with around Oz trip plans up in the dining room.

A bit more info on us at www.ahack.org (a bit dated, but still ok).

  :-)    Andreas

Welcome, Andreas!

I don't suppose you've met up with Michael yet?  I have no idea where in Tasmania he lives, but he seems a pretty good bloke.  :thumb:

MattM

32 year old guy living in Mill Valley, CA. Got my GS500F (blue) a couple weeks ago and am having a great time. No mods yet, but I'm hoping to find out what some common, good value mods are. I've heard new tires are the first thing to do.

LEVO

53 year old from San Diego, California.  Started riding for the first time a week ago after 30 something years in cages.  Just bought an 02 GS500.  Completed my MSF class last weekend.  Bought all the safety gear that money can buy (yeah I read that sticky post about safety gear,  that is very good advice).

Planning to ride with my son (Deno in socalriders board) to Palomar and Julian one day...

Hi
my name is Stefano. I am new in this forum.
I am from Milano - Italy. My GS500E of april 2003 is mainly used to go from my home to the work and vice versa (50 km every day) in summer and in winter.
During summer, my GS500 is also used to go to the sea or to the montains with my girls friend.

GS500 is not a fantastic motorbike but it's alwais well working and this for me is the most important thing!!!!

Kerry

Ciao, Stefano!

Milano, eh?  Would you happen to know someone named Alessandro Piredda?  The last I knew (1982?) he was planning to go into l'informatica.

Well, I thought I'd ask....
