Hey....other than gloves and heated handgrips which i don't want...has anyone used hand guards or deflectors as a defense against the wind chill in cold weather riding..??
Or has anyone used these MRS hand deflectors?

http://www.motorhelmets.com/htm1/bodyparts-control-handguards.htm

I've read a few reviews on them that haven't been too bad and they are easy to use and remove.  Just hate wearing bulky gloves when i ride but i hate the thought of losing my fingers to frostbite just a bit more.

Input/feedback is appreciated and encouraged. :dunno:

My fairing/windshield extend out to cover my hands. I gata tell ya... the Difference is night and day. It keeps my hands a LOT warmer in cold weather (I ride down to the 20s F). I hve not tried a deflector, but it should work just the same.

Thats what i was kinda thinking.  The rest of my body can handle the cold well even on an unfaired bike but my poor hands suffer the most. Thanx Smirnov..

I wondered the samething. Let us know what it looks like on your GS. I may do the samething if it looks cool

That is an excellent link! Hopefully, a vendor will have those at the bike show this weekend.

The Buell Lightning CityX comes with some.  Might fit on a gs.  Buell parts are dirt cheap too.

I think i may order them but as far as their looking cool i'm not too sure about.  Word is they are called "elephant ears" by dirt bikers.  Hmm...i wonder why..??   :P

Function over form.  Nuff said.

About $40/pair at the Buell Dealer.

Dom,

thanks for the info.  Ordering the handleguards from HD tomorrow.

Actually, I'm going to look at the CityX they have in their showroom before doing so.  Need to make sure I can retrofit them to the GS's levers.

I still can't figure out how to mount them.. pivot point of lever? or handle bar? please post a picture when you are done.
