so what hits first? is it different for left and right side of bike? and what noise and feel does it make?

i was on 715 (one of my favorite roads) today and i was leaning left a little further than i normally do, and i heard a light scraping noise for an instant mid corner, but i didn't really feel much. it was very brief.

just curious if i touched somthing down.
The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

when i happen to drag the footped, i may not hear anything but i feel it...you feel your foot lefting up. and the bike might jerk as result...

no big jerking sensation, if i did scrape anything it was very light. could have just been my imagination  :dunno:

it's very easy to scrap the center stand...pegs are much much much harder...imagine your bike tilting over next time you're in the garage...and you'll see how far it has to lean in order to scrape...

my thought was center stand, it sticks out more on the left, but i'm not sure, i'll check tomorrow.

i'm never really sure what angle i'm leaning at, should i just get sombody to follow me and tell me later? is there any other way?

On my old GStwin it was the kickstand pivot bracket that would grind the pavement if the pavement caused the suspension to compress midcorner.

Problely your foot peg or your foot, that would be my guess as I do it almost all the time.

Be careful if you touch down the centerstand - a guy I work with had a GS when he lived in California and wrecked it on a hard corner when the centerstand hit the ground. It made the back end hop which caused it to let go and I think he lowsided it into a rock wall.

Church,
If you're scraping things, you'll be able to see it on the scraped bits. Nice little "feathering" of shiny metel where it's "kissed" the pavement surface. Consider it a "merit badge" :thumb:
It's not how fast you go, rather "how" you go fast!

I scrape the centerstand alot when the suspension compresses in a turn (due to a bump or something). If it becomes a problem you'll have to remove the centerstand before it removes you  ;)
