I've been reading how a lot of you have swapped to gxr 750 or katana shocks. Is there a shock I can change to without having to actually "mod" the bike (read: grind on things, bend things, etc.)?

I'd hate to be stuck with my only choice being the stock OEM shock.

I know for sure (have installed it) the katana 600 shock was just a bolt in no grinding needed

i know the GSXR forks are supposed to be the shizznizzle, but how do you like the Katana forks? does the front still bottom out and dive excessivly when breaking? adjustments?

Think they're talking about the rear shock, not the forks

dragonlover

yes, I'm talking about the rear shock. I'm hoping to find a year and make that's interchangeable with my 98. My shock is weak...I'll check to see if it can be fixed up first, but if not, it's bouncy bouncy on the potholes.

And personally, I think my stock front forks (new seals) are just fine.

So I think I remember that any Katana 600 or 750 rear shock will fit our bikes with no mods. Is there a specific year or series of years for the Katana that we need to look out for? And where is the best place to get them? I looked on eBay and they all seem to be used. Is that a problem? Or are you all using used ones?

And there are a few different kinds. One has some sort of linkage attached, one has a cable and dial or something with it, and some are yellow while others are black.

Just want to make sure I get the right one and that used is acceptable.
