Hi, well this is my first post here as ive registered before but have halted to post till I had recieved my ok to own a bike again from parents, well 2 weeks later finally pursuaded the ol' man to let me store my bike at home without turning it into ashes (my mom doesnt like bikes lol) ive ridden a fzr-600 back in new mexico every summer when i was out of school, but am really in love with the gs , i love the gs and the gs community n ive surfed almost every little topic on this site daily, i have yet to own one but am currently in the search for it but, meanwhile plz take care of me and thank you for your hospitality! (also i have completed the msf course but have crashed once when i was 16 and currently have around 8 months of experience under the belt)

Welcome!

So you crashed, now you know...that you probably don't like crashing.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

lol ya, it was in the desert and i was being dumb infront of my pretty neighbor n uncles, havent crashed since and was taught a big big lesson, not to bad on the hurty side though but messed up my uncles bike which hurt my wallet as well.  other then that i think im moderately adjusted to bikes, what im worried though is that going from a fzr600 to a gs500 im not to worried about speed since ill need it for daily city driving in san jose, but will the perfomance be drastically cut down? also i like the 500 cause im 5 foot 6" and can barely land both feet down on the fzr, ive adjusted but still has never been comfy...

Well the Baby G will run a 1/4 in 13-14 seconds depending on who you are and that isn't much slower than an FZR. In fact, if you don't weigh much then the little G can run with that type of bike if the rider is a 240 pounder or around there. While I'm thinking about it, could you please stay in school, learn about proper punctuation, grammar, sentence run-on, spelling and the like? Not trying to "dis" you or anything, it's just that I notice a trend in younger people to use poor sentence structure. Good luck getting a bike, hopefully a GS500, and feel free to contribute to the forum. Love the little GS, Texas (they gonna fence that place in?), and this forum.

No problem, sorry about the grammar.  I was playing Battlefield 2 demo while trying to type back and forth, lol actually I'm an English major if you believe it or not and am also taking summer Eenglish classes, trying not to burn myself out but who knows.  That's good to hear about the GS though, I had test-driven a gs500f around my area and loved it, but wasn't too happy with the fairings due to an obsession with old-school customized Japanese street bikes.  Thanks for the info too and am very glad to be here.
