Just sticking my head in to say helllo.

You Sydney blokes should've gone through the RNP Sunday morning, me and a bunch of other guys went for a run down the coast, and went throught he RNP about 8:45am, as soon as you hit the dark section, it was so cold (heard it was ~5C) whenever you let out a breath, you couldn't see! After that though the weather for the whole day was great.

I'll have to try to catch up with you lot the next time you organise a ride somewhere.

Hi there to Brembo, and *bump* to keep us on the 1st page..oh and BTW, I dropped my new VFR 2 weeks ago...lesson reiterated:

Slippery roundabout + Cold tyres + A little 2 much throttle = LOWSIDE
2 Much Wild Turkey = Daim Bramage...

Lukewarm Wilson

Sorry to hear about the lowside at least by the sounds of it your ok thats the important thing, was that a new VFR?.
Also to the other Aust GS riders just did the progressive fork springs on mine and its the best $130 Ive spent on the bike so far even better then the BT45 tyres if you haven't done it yet rush out now and do it its amazing the difference compared to the standard springs, it now brakes MUCH better and holds its line so much better then before and you can feel everything from tipping in to pulling out of bends its all there no vague spots at all, it actually makes the front forks feel like motorcycle forks not mountain bike forks as they did, now I'm almost thinking I don't need to upgrade to a bigger bike yet as things just became a whole lot faster woo hoo :thumb:

I was thinking about getting some pregressives, and when they're needed next, some much stickier tyres. ATM I'm running Arrowmaxes, hardest tyre compound known to man :o Next time I might try the GPR80's or a mate suggested BT092's? One of the guys I ride with runs GPR70's on his 250RR, great grip but not a long life tyre, the GPR80's have more life, same with the BT092's.

But I think you've sold me on the progressives, I'll start putting some money away for those!

Colman,

Sorry to hear about your lowside, it's good your ok . I don't know you haer about a fornight ago a rider went down here.

he the was late Frank Doble 67 of Mt Annan. he was heading north on the
highway & was turning into Moss st when a car was also turn into
Moss St from the Right side of the Highway when they Crash.

I feel very Sad Everytime I hear of one US going down :( it's even
worse when it's not the Riders fault. I wish Cars would take more
care & look out for riders & not think about them selfs all the
time. there must be somthing that can be done maybe Run T.V Ads,
when ppl do there L, P's they should be told to keep an Good eye for
riders.

Thanks Luke, yeah brand newie (only had it a month with about 1,100k's on her)...Big thanks to you too Matt..It's funny (not haha funny) that when you become a bike rider, you all of a sudden pay attention when the traffic reporters of a morning mention "...due to a motorcyclist down on cnr..." I too wince and think of the unknown (to me) comrade who has become a victim of a careless cage driver or his own circumstance...

Still, I cant wait to get back on her and take my chances amongst those lunatic drivers oblivious to anything outside of their own little world, rather than sit at home and let life pass me by....

Cheers boys  :thumb:

Went for a ride through the Royal National Park (RNP) today (like I usually do every Sunday) and boy it's slippery. Every whinter it gets this way, it's cold all the time, when it rains the rain takes days to dry, and today the road was green  :? moss all over the place. The chilling coastal breeze didn't help much when I got down to Bald Hill  :o

Lukewarm Wilson

went for a ride sunday up the old pacific Hwy and the road was getting damp up there as well so it shows winter is with us again.
Fitted my new rear koni shock before I went as well as new chain and sprockets still have to do some fine tuning but otherwise it is already soooooooooooooooooo much better I can actually feel everything now although it is a little firm but the only problem now is that to adjust the rear spring I have to take the shock off the bike due to the collar adjustment but thats a small price to pay for the feel I have now and I can still adjust dampening while its still on the bike so once I am happy with the spring it should be set and forget ( I hope ) although I get the feeling I have more suspension now then I do have bike    :thumb:

brembo

A rubber one I'd be interested in. The only place I'd use a GS500 ketring is on the GS's keys, and metal keyrings are a nono IMO, last owner of my bike had a monster bunch of keys and now the triple clamp and front of the tank are all scrathed up :(

Yeah, I'd be interested. Are you thinking of getting him to send a bunch together to save on postage?

Lukewarm Wilson

yeah thats what i was thinking, also was looking into seeing about plastic or rubber key rings but would need to have a minium of 250units made so that may be a bit of a pain but I will still look into that but will still look at getting the pewter one to put on my spare keys :thumb:
