Was watching Two Wheel Tuesdays and they had a little plug for http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00933034000 thought it was kinda neat :dunno:

Someone (mistakenly, I think) asked about the domestic version of this kit a few days ago.  (See this thread for some feedback.)

$100 seems kinda steep for the kit.  But if you don't have ANY tools yet, the contents are all good to have, and maybe the price isn't out of line compared to the per-tool price.   :dunno:  And I guess you could add single wrenches and sockets as you need them....

But most folks already have SOME of the tools in the kit.  The main omissions seem to be needlenose pliers and a few additional sockets.  It's too bad that they don't list the actual sizes of the included wrenches & sockets.  :(

Cal Price

That does look "OK" butI would think a bit on the expensive side. If you have some tools it's probably better to make up a kit adding stuff as you need it or when you can afford it. If you have no tools at all and the price seems reasonable to you then get it, you can't have too many tools.

Just a tip, when you buy tools get the best you can afford even if it means it takes longer to get a kit together, many many years ago when I bought my first house I had no carpentry, brickies, plumbing and electrical tools so every week after getting paid on a Friday as I walked past the local hardware I went in and bought one thing, I bought the best and I still use most of them 35 years later.

Didn't really think about the contents vs price.  It really seems like a ripoff come to think of it.  This looks like the set  I have http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00933841000&subcat=Mechanics+Tool+Sets and yer getting alot more than that motorcycle set for 100$ more.  Add about 70$ more and you'll have a nice assortment of pliars, screwdrivers, and an adjustable wrench and can take on almost anything.

Done talking about tools before I think of something else I need :P

Craftsman 241 pc. Mechanics Tool Set - now you're talkin'!

But even then, half of the set is non-metric.  Do you find yourself using that half very much? Around the house, maybe?
