Hi guys,

in the Washington, DC area.  bought a 1995 GS500e with <5k miles on it about 2.5 months ago and have been riding ever since.  This bike is absolutely perfect for learning.  I feel very comfortable on this bike and as of right now it's plenty quick!  I love riding.

Some bad points though:
- broken key stuck in gas tank (i can sitll turn it and open)
- chain is VERY rusty, probalby needs replacing after the winter
- laid down twice by previous owners

Mods
carbon fiber 'look' mirrors (old ones broke)
new grips (when i bought the bike it didn't have any  )
dremeled the rear plastic part out behind the license plate - i thought it looked retarted

I'm looking forward to riding this bike throughout the season and for most of next year till i become more experienced and comfortable.  After that i will be looking for a sport bike (f4i, RR, gsx-r 600, or another 600cc bike)

22, just graduated from college, got a new/nice job, and i'm loving life!

safe riding

Hi there;

My name is Jennifer, I reside in Ottawa, Canada....I'm 30 (today :( crying, but feeling much younger) and I ride a black and silver 2005 GS 500f.  My very first bike and to this point in my life the best investment I have made yet :)

I'm looking forward to modding my bike out a bit next summer and I'm hoping this site will give me a few ideas.  So far the bike has been a blast to ride.

God Bless Suzuki!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER!!!!

Welcome to GSTwin! Post some pics of your 05 F in the Gallery section. To post here in the board, you need to link to an external site where the pic is stored.

Keep your GS warm and dry this winter. And don't forget to use a fuel stabilizer to keep the gas from turning into goo.

Hi, i'm 19 years old, living in Quebec, Canada, I can do motorcycle only from april to november because there's snow the rest of the time and it's too cold. I just bought a 1993 GS500E with 39 000km 2 months ago, being my first motorcycle, and i really like riding it. This forum looks full of ressource and since i don't know a lot of people having a motorcycle that's going to be great for me. :)

28 year old single white guy living in Chicago, although I'd rather be in Europe.  Grew up in Detroit, went to school for art (painting and drawing) at U of Michigan Ann Arbor.  Now I make pictures for me and other people... lately, more for other people, but I still find time to paint sometimes.

More about me here, and you can see my art:

I'm learning German, I play mandolin, I like to read too much, and I like cheese.

I just recently caught the bike bug.  I have a '95 GS500E, in a less than ideal teal, but I think I'll paint it silver when it gets out of storage.

Hey,
I'm a 22 year-old guy. And I just bought a '91 GS, less than 7500mi, excellent condition. It's already got a fender-ectomy.
It's pretty much the ideal first bike, and I friggin love it.

I'm in Houston, TX; so we've got an almost year-round riding season.

I'm a 28 year old brown male  from the Washington  DC metro area in graduate school to earn my  Pharmacy Doctorate.  I have been working with bikes since I was about 12. I have had almost 30 bikes since that age. I tend to work on them on my own, but forums are always a plus.

I just bought a Yellow/Black 1999 GS500E (dubbed Bumble Bee) with 6300 miles on Fleabay and got ripped off.  And fella, if you see this  :nana:  Thanks alot for your honesty.   :bs:

Anyway, I have to do the following to get the bike roadworthy:
Rebuild/clean the carbs
Change the oil and filter
Lube the chain
Replace Handlebars/Mirrors and one handlebar hold down
Replace the instrument bucket
Replace the headlight ring
Replace both tires
Coat the the headers with some POR-15 to arrest the rust (Full Yoshimura exhaust), then put header tape on them
Replace a bunch of bolt fixtures that are rusty
Replace the Left Side frame cover (not really needed but it bothers me)

Well atleast now I can reference this post as a checklist.

And then hopefully, all will be good in the world again...

I had bought this little GS to tide me over till I finished the bigger GS that I am restoring, but it looks like I might end up keeping the new project too.

Congrats!
Hey the History Channel last night said that Ben Franklin was a member of "The Hellfire Society" and that he may have been into the ocult?  Thoughts?  That sounded like  :bs: to me.
