yea, it's my 1st bike. I bought an '04 F & have been riding about 1 1/2 seasons. lost of people dream about moving up, but i'm in absolutly no rush. I love this bike: it's a complete blast. I'd rather keep it for a few more years and really learn and perfect my riding techniques. Eventually I'll move up, probably to a gsx-r 750, but not till this is completly paid off. I'd never sell or trade it in; this one's a keeper. once I get a new bike, this will be a perfect bike to get others involved as well (especially my gf!). It's a great beginner bike, and I'd feel confident letting her start on it as I did. plus it makes for a GREAT track-day bike as well!

Ditto.. Except I have an 05 and about 2,000 street miles under my belt... Won't ever sell the GS but won't get a new bike until a) this one is paid off and b) my technique and alll that is improved. :)

The GS is my first true street bike. I've had a couple of mini dirt bikes when I was a teenager(XR75 & XL75). I bought a 1987 Yamaha XT350 fresh out of high school. It never got ridden in traffic so when I got my GS last year that was one thing that I had to work on. Surprisingly after several years of not riding at all I still managed to adapt to the GS fairly quickly. Like most GS owners I'm looking forward to upgrading to a more powerful bike in the near future but for now I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

That reminds me:

Piss poor planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on mine.  :icon_mrgreen:

Mandatory GS500 content:  My little GS is my first bike.  I doubt I'll ever sell it, as it fulfills all my requirements in a motorcycle.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

It is for me, although I might be ready to step up

9th street bike, and 4th track bike.

Been riding for 30 years, and I love these stupid little bikes. :icon_mrgreen:

My first bike too.  The only 2 things I don't like about it is that its cold blooded and the gages are old tech.  Still working on HUD (really waiting for OLED tech to come out).

Yes.  I have 2 months and 400 miles now.  Before I got my GS I was afraid of motorcycles.

The GS and the EX's were like 4th or 5th on my list...didn't start messing with them until I'd already gotten into literbikes.  I stick with the 500's because they're simply a blast to ride, fun tinkering/learning experiences and you can get good running bikes for petty cash.

~~current project trying to acquire:  '92 GS500, tlr forks, gsxr wheels and swinger/shock, no tank or bodywork and a mangled frame. $250 from some hick who doesn't know he could get that from the forks alone.
