+1 on the Jimmies

I'm with Aj on this.

I have a good friend from New Zealand.

One time, it started to rain lightly and I mentioned that it was "sprinkling a little."  Which obviously means it is starting to "piss" outside, as he would put it.  He told me I should never say sprinkling again because it sounded less than manly.

This coming from a guy that calls men's shirts "tops". 

"Hey, Jake.  Nice top."

Uhh. . .

Yeah, but they are blinkers, collectively.  Turns signals if addressed individually.  As in, "My left turn signal" or "my blinkers."

I have had the sprinkles/jimmies argument a few times...I just hate the word jimmies.  It's so cheesy.  Either way, I'd know what you're talking about.

There are so many words like that, I can't think of any right now though.

I usually say "turn signals", but most people around here call them "blinkers" and only occasionally "directionals" or "indicators".  Hazard lights ("hazards") are referred to as "flashers", but sometimes "four-ways".

Regardless of what people call them, no one around here uses them...and are sometimes referred to as "tourist indicators".

As for jimmies/sprinkles:

Jimmies are chocolate, sprinkles are candy.  Thus:  if they are brown they are jimmies, if they are multi-colored they are sprinkles.

Haha, well for one..I didn't vote..I just spoke my piece. Maybe I should hqave voted, then you would have 2..

Keep in mind I moved here from Florida when I was 13 so I have a mutt influence.
