But...  I HAVE been in the water...  And it is cold... Really cold.

Well, at least you know I'm just flipping you shaZam!...  I've been to Missouri once...  It was muggy and flat.  That's really all I know about it. :dunno_white:  I've been a West Coast kid my whole life...  Never spend much time on the East Coast, Midwest, or in the South.  Althought, I was born in a cowboy state and my dad was a TOTAL hick.

What's so cool about water you can't get into (other than it is beautiful)?  If you'd ever been to central Missouri, you'd love it.  We have a lake that would take the better part of a day to navigate from one end to the other.  It has more coastline than the State of Washington (that is actually a fact that a park ranger told me).  You can get into water and its warm.  There are tree covered hills on all sides.  This lake is soo big, that if you don't have a 40 foot boat, you shouldn't be out in the channel (it gets really, really rough).  So since you don't have any experience with anything like that, I won't take it personally!   :)

Have you talked to davipu since he left?

But, how's the snowboarding in MO?

I talked to RG once and davipu once...  I invited them over to my place for New Years, but they couldn't make it.

You know, I still have no idea why they decided to leave...  I figured it was just normal board-drama.  I've seen this sort of thing a few times before. :dunno_white:

There is snowboarding here.  It is great if you like to ride in the terrain park.

I've snowboarded everywhere.  Vermont, Colorado, New Mexico, Canada, etc., so trust me when I tell you: snowboarding in Missouri sucks.  But it is better than a kick in the nuts.  Picture Killington, VT.  Now cut the mountain in half and you've got Missouri.  But the terrain parks are awsome.

So kiss my ass, Mr. Man!!!!

I have four places 45 minutes from me...  Then two place 1.5 hours...  Then a three hour and five hour place to go...  Not to mention I'm not that far from Whistler...  And they're actually Mountains, rather than tall hills.

And during the summer I can wakeboard.

AND!!!  There's a direct flight from Seattle to Amsterdam...  Only takes about 8 hours.  BEAT THAT! :flipoff:

Um...that's where seafood comes from.

You see, there are these things that live in the water...they swim, crawl, or otherwise frolic around in there (even when it's cold).  People go out and gather them up (they use boats, nets, and such things).  Then they take them to the coast (that's the place where the water ends) where they sell them.  They take the crappy stuff and sell it to processors (so you can get your fish sticks and McFillet's).  Some of it they ship away, so you can pay rediculous sums of money for it.  The rest is sold or served to those of us that live nearby...usually within hours of it swimming.

You see, unlike beef...which is best when aged...seafood is better fresh.  Having it nearby is a good thing.

Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.
