Where can I get one.
Don't get me wrong, I love my GS 500, but the GSR is a hot bike. I just found it on suzukis' website, but it doesn't look like it's available in the U.S. Anyone know what the deal is?

They aren't made for the U.S. market. That's why they aren't offered in the U.S.

Yeah, but Americans don't typically buy naked bikes. Why do you think the FZ6 isn't that big of a hit. The FZ1 has a cult following, but it isn't a prime seller. Why do you think the GS turned into a faired bike? It wasn't selling well enough because people want fully faired sportbikes. The Ducati Monster is a great naked bike, but it isn't a hugely bought bike because 1) it's Ducati and 2) it's naked. The SV650 is sold more in the half faired version than the naked version, but is only as popular as it is because people think it's a great "learner" bike. Now yes, there are some die hard fans of them, as there are of GSes, but a lot of people simply use them and move up. Europe on the other hand LOVES naked bikes. They are prolific over there, with tons of different varieties from every major manufacturer. The only fully naked bike that Suzuki offers that isn't a cruiser is the SV650.

Suzuki UK, on the other hand, has the GS500, SV650, GSR600, Bandit 1200, Bandit 650, GSX1400, and the Van Van 125.
Yamaha offeres the XJR1300, BT1100, FZ1 (naked, the Fazer is the faired), and FZ6.

You know what fully naked bike Yamaha offers in the US? NONE.

It's just the different market desires. Europeans want sporty naked bikes and streetfighters while Americans want fully faired sportbikes with lots of power, even if they can't handle it.

The real problem will be getting it insured, inspected, and registered.

Go to a dealer who is willing to import it for "racing".

I thought about importing one also it's just not worth it.  After buying one then having it shipped here. . . and think about what you will do for spare parts if you crash.

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

The shipping, handling, dock fees, doc fees, tax fees, moving the darn thing (it has to stay in the crate, it literally cannot touch the ground; the tires cannot touch the dock).
