What I learned in my SCCA days was that there were no other cars.

On the bike it is much the same idea.

If you go out there with the fear of losing you create a loss. Even if you were among bikes of equal specs.

You go out there to win and you'll only see the finish line, not the course. You'll lose focus, because winning is not about the track, it is about beating the next guy.

And that being said you are not yet ready to hang with someone who has many many track days.

Go out there, twist the throttle and just be sane about it.

Strip it naked for the track.  Put on the engine case guards.  You will save a lot of money when it's dropped.  Maybe take off the center stand, too.  When you're done at the track, put the fairings back on for pimpin.
