What jet sizes do you run?

I was wondering what jets you guys are running. I don't want to buy a jet kit but I know that I'm running way too lean right now. A while back I put a muffler from a yamaha yz 426 on my bike (cut off old muffler and welded this one on) and it has a lot more flow than stock. I originally left my stock air filter in there, and I just shimmed the needle in the carb up with a #4 washer and left the jets stock because the bike shops didn't have any 40 or 42.5 pilots or 125 or 127.5 mains. The bike ran fine with just a tiny stumble when rolling on the throttle so I didn't really worry about it. Now I have finally replaced my air filter with a foam Uni filter, and it runs like crap unless I have the choke part way on. I really need to get this thing jetted right so I don't blow it up and I'm wondering what you guys are running with simmilar setups, or if you guys with jet kits know what sizes the jets are for the different stages. Thanks for your help. I'm running some 100LL Avgas in the meantime hoping the lead and octane will delay any dammage.

I forgot to mention, that I think I'm going to order some 45 pilots and 130 mains to start with, but thats just a guess, so please let me know what you run and what you r setup is and how happy you are with it. Thanks

i have 135/135 mains with a K&N duplexfilter and selfmade exhaust.

I run 40/150 with a K&N lunchbox and an exhaust from a CBR
'93 cf two bros can, alsa cobalt blue custom paint, fenderectomy, repositioned directionals, 15t sprocket, ignition advancer, SM2's, national cycle f-16 dark sport, cbr rearsets - fully rebuilt after a crash

45 pilots are going to run like crap.  Order some 40's online.

Yeah, call sudco, and order two of part number 004-609.  No one really runs any pilot but size 40.  You're gonna want to by your mains from sudco them, too, since they have a $15 minimum.  I ended up with two tubes of superglue.  :icon_mrgreen:

You may want to run your mains as high as 150, too.  I think most people with performance exhause + lunchbox are running between 140 and 150.

The local shop didn't have any pilot jets, so for now I will keep that stock, but I picked up some 145 main jets to start with, I'll install them today and see how it works out.

Why do you obsess about buying at the local shop?  Do you not have a credit/debit card or something?  Can't they order parts?  My local shop, which is full of incompetent boobs, were at least able to order the 40's.

Installed the 145s and it runs better but I think it might be too rich, the stock jets were only 122.5. The power is more linear but not a noticable power gain. maybee I'll try removing the needle shim, I'll probally order a bunch of jets online and try them all out to se what works best. At least I don't need to wory about burning up the engine.

P.S. I don't obses about getting stuff at the shop rather than online, but my bike is my only transpo and I ride by a shop almost every day so I can't wait for parts. Now that the bike isn't in danger of blowing up I can afford to wait a few days.

UNI and pipe is 125 mains max ... 40 pilots and 1 shim and 3 turns.
