I just recently bought a '01 GS500E, it's blue and only had 11,000 kilometers on it when i bought it. I've been reading alot in this site and hadn't posted anything yet, so i thought i'd say hello to everyone in GStwins, and look forward to furthering my riding experience.

Welcome and me too, beer is good, esp if you hail from Canada.

Welcome!

How long have you been riding?

I was surprised to see some messages in this thread, didn't think my hello would warrant any notice.
But yeah, I'm currently in 2nd year at UWO in Ontario Canada. I've ridden dirt bikes my entire life, but just bought the GS this summer and took the course and all that, so i'm still pretty new to riding. As for my bike, i'll post pictures within a day or two, i've just been lazy with uploading them to my computer. The bike looked like it had never been ridden when i bought it, i couldn't believe the bike was in such good condition.
So are there any other Canadians on this site, or is it mostly an American site? If so, i'm looking for people to ride with in Southwestern Ontario.
By the way, I appreciate the welcome.

We've got a good number of Canadian folks here (and all over the world)! I hope a few of them live close enough that you can ride together!  :thumb:

Post something in the Meet & Greet area...  That's how I met some of the Seattle GSers.

marinj,

Welcome!  There are a indeed some canadian folks on this board and some more local then you might think.  I'm also in London, in the north end, about 10 min. from UWO and I know of a couple more in the city.  I work in the east end and usually ride everyday back and forth.  I'm on a black, naked GS so if we ever cross paths, honk, wave, holla, whatever and I'll do the same.

Enjoy your ride and be safe  :thumb:

Crazy I live in the north end too. On grosvenor st. near Adelaide. I also work in the east end right now... i'm working at General Dynamics for the summer. Anways, my gs is naked and blue so if you see me do the same! If you know of any bike gatherings etc. in London let me know cuz i'm new to the scene

Welcome!

I'm in Toronto, but will be in London in about month for my wife's UWO 10 year class reunion.  London is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to hit some of my favourite restaurants.  It's worth the drive just to hit East Town Pizza and Mykonos.

WREX

marinj,

you're literally minutes down the street from me.  small world eh...

for local action and what not, check out www.osrclub.com  It's officially an Ontario Sport Bike club, but a good chunk of the folks are from London and much of the dialgoue relates to it specifically.  It's a relatively large group of people that meet regularily @ the Blockbuster parking lot by Masonville/FutureShop and downtown.  Mostly bigger supersports and other fast machines.  Haven't met up with them as a group myself, but I lurk the board to keep updated with the local stuff like events, shops, ride routes, general chats, etc.

We don't get together as much as we'd like to (life can be busy sometimes), but when we can, I ride with a small group that usually hit the coasts/ports south (port stanley, port bruce area) and north west (grand bend and up) of the city and ride along it and bombing around the back roads.  I can sometimes juggle a busy schedule and can't make any promises, but if you're ever up for a ride, drop me a pm and we'll go from there.

otherwise take care for now.
