Hey An, you need to head over to a dealer and sit on a the bikes and get the one that's most comfortable to you.  All the new 600's are very close in power and weight that the only real differece is looks and color choice's.  If you were going to get the GSXR 600 I would say skip it and get the 750 instead.

Have a few questions tho
Are you getting a new bike or used?
Have you checked what your insurance is going to be?
If your financing will you be required to have full coverage on the bike?

Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

hahahahaha...900RR beat a 999...hahahhaha

I love when sucky ass riders try and screw the whole thing up for everyone.  IT's a close race but a 900RR won't hang with the 999R even in the straights with equivelant riders.

I'm trying to stay away from the GSXR's.  I don't don't reall like how fat the tail sections look. :dunno_white:

I'm looking for a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW bike.  It'll be my first NEW vehicle ever.
I haven't checked insurance, but I figure I can still afford it if my insurance triples.
If I finance it, I WILL need full insurance, but I am going buy it cash (and maybe trade), so I don't need full coverage.

Hey An, just head over to a few dealers and sit / ride a few bikes that you like.  Pick the one that's most comfortable to you.

And if you can afford it get full coverage insurance.  Parts for 06+ bikes are not cheap, and if you get in an accident again with someone that does not have insurance.  At least the repair bills won't be comming out of your pocket.

Whatever you get hope you enjoy it and post some pic's of it.  :thumb:

I searched a local dealer's website, and they advertised a $1000 savings on a brand new 2006 CBR600rr.  On the site, it said it ended on 6-30-06, so I called and talked to the guy who sold me the GS.  He looked into it, and said he could do the deal for me. :thumb:

They only have the silver CBR and the black CBR.  I'm not sure if I'd want one of those. Blue is my fav color, but Honda didn't have ANY blue bikes this year.

Have you sat on the Gix?  Or really checked the bike out?  The tails aren't that big and they're the most comfortable supersports out there in my opinion.  Next in comfiness is the Kawasakis.  The Yamahas and Hondas have decent ergos but the seats are like planks of wood.  I would also look back a couple years.  Buying a new bike or car is over-rated.  You can get the exact same thing at a minimum of 20% cheaper just because some no-riding asshat rolled it off the lot before realizing he was just looking for a bigger pee pee.

Besides, for the cost of the Honda you can have one of these:

...barely...

...then the much less interesting...

...etc...imo...otl...

Jeeze, Mak. Pretty much every bike you posted is on my list of "some of the most gorgeous bikes on the planet".

An, have you ridden one of those 600cc supersports? They aren't exactly the most comfortable things in the world. And since most of your riding is around town, a twin would probably be better suited for the type of riding you do, simply by nature of the engine.

An - Check out the SV1000S with full fairings. With an open exhaust they sound absolutely amazing.

I can get you one delivered.  I know where a 2003 Mille (not an R, though) is for $8100...akro pipe, K&N and PCII.

I'm also familiar with a 2000 Factory...Ohlins all over it, Brembo front and back, merchesinis (or maybe OZ's he wasn't specific), steels, lots of carbon fiber, adjustable rearsets, all that...$8750.

~and all the SVS fans need to go ride a TL lol...

How about an RC-51 with Ohlins forks, shock, and damper, OZ wheels, CRG levers, and more?

sure they'l give you $1000 off-the 07's are due in any minute and the 06's will lose at least that much once they turn 'used' and are a year old (the minute you ride it off the lot). Still, if it turns your crank doesnt matter what it cost so long as you're happy with the bike and the deal.
on a new/newish bike you want to seriously consider full coverage. Not so much for the possibility of another crash but for the very real possibility of theft.

also, you'd regret getting the black. its a pita to keep clean without showing swirl marks. there are enough comments about it you'd think someone could petition a recall on bad paint.

nice! but if you do lots of street riding dont EVEN consider one of these. good reach seat-to-bars but the stock rearsets put your heels in your ass. at least they did to me and I'm not a long lanky guy...

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Get the Duc if you like turning a wrench...

What I've heard (even from my friends that sell and race Ducatis) is that they just aren't as reliable and low-maintenance as we are probably used to.  That's only second-hand though, I haven't actually owned one before.

I think your listed choices are quite sane .. a 600 is just a nicer, easier bike to ride around town when compared to a 1000.  Bigger is not always better!

An wait a couple weeks and you'll be able to get direct feedback from a GTR owner (not me).  He says it's supposed to be delivered around the first of November.
