So the forecast for Deals Gap or the closest town,  Robbinsville, NC (28771) has a chance of flurries Friday and snow/rain showers for Saturday with highs in the mid 40s both days. I know little to nothing about being in snow, driving in snow or snow in general. What I figure so far is if the highs are in the 40's then their shouldn't be any ice, right? I don't mind driving in light flurries but if it become "snow showers" I assume this is going to drop visability greatly and I should stay off the road. Ideas, comments, suggestions...???

If I had a camera I would show you the 3" thick slab of ice in front of our office building and the thermoment that says 57*.  I'd ride anyway, though.

If the forecast says "snow showers" you have a lot bigger problem than visibility.   ;)

Generally, the state roads will be clear and dry within 24-36 hours after a snowfall of less than 4" if the road crews are worth a damn.  Sometimes less, sometimes more, it depends on the amount of sunshine available.

I wouldn't ride if the roads are wet or snow covered and the temperature is near freezing or  below.  That's a good way to crash.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Dude I hate to rain or snow on your parade, but I do a lot of traing(I race roadbikes) in western nc/eastern tn and that area is hit or miss for a month or so. I got back for the blueridge parkway today and the tunnels are sheets of ice. Its closed to cars, in this section. With mountains and how they affect the weather it can never be predicted that far out..... Any thing can happen, but good luck!
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

I'm starting to get a little concerned. But yeah, the trip is still on as far as I'm concerned.
