I never really understood the Zen koans. such as:

What is the sound of one hand clapping? I would say, there is no sound. But is that too easy?

If a tree falls in the forest and no one sees it, does it make a sound? I would say yes, right?

And stuff like, such and such monk said, I am finished eating, and then the zen master said, now go wash your bowl, then he was enlightened. Hm.



There are some cool lines in the Tao Te Ching, like where it talks about the 'old masters' or whatnot, they were "alert, like travelers crossing a dangerous stream" etc. Hm.

this seriously happened to me. I walked to the 7-11 and saw this. you know what they were doing? eating food and listening to rap music super loud. awesome!

I tried opening the door and shook it real hard. scared the crap out of them walked away laughing.
