My name is Menno, I'm 21 and live in the sun capital of the world, Australia (will swap sun for rain ;)) I have a '05 GS500F that is black and I run the risk of serious burns if it gets left out in the sun for too long (which is the main reason I wear draggin' jeans during the summer...)

gsmotogirl

I'm from Vancouver, BC.  Just bought my GS500 in November. It's my first bike and I am looking forward to insuring it next month and start riding.

My name is Mike and I am from South Carolina USA.  I bought a 2001 GS500 three weeks ago.  This is my second bike.  I had a 2003 Honda Shadow 750 but sold just before I got married.  I begged my wife and was able to buy this bike.  It has the V&H pipe with DynoJet.  I love it.  Anyone else from Carolina?

Old man

Hi all,
I'm a newbie toGsTwins, great site! Just finished kerrys Vid on Valve Clearences, good gear!
I'm 48 years young, married to a top woman, father of 2, 20yr+ brats, owner of a sweet, GS500F and former owner of a XS250 back in the late 70's.
Use the bike to ride to work, 148km round trip between Woodford in the Blue Mountains and Minto in Sydneys Western suburbs, (by the way i live in New South Wales, Australia).
Looking forward to chatting to other Gs owners, and any others from Oz!

Cheers Ric.

heyas all.. 32 yr old from Mobile, Alabama.  I have lived in many places during the 8 years i spent in the Marine Corps mostly in SoCal and Japan.  :thumb:
I have wanted a motorcycle since I was old enough to ride a bike and finally got one (94 GS500 with 8300 miles on it).  I must be going through an early mid-life crisis or something because within the past 5 years I have purchased both of my most wanted vehicles.  I drive a 94 Supra Turbo daily and now my GS500 when weather permits.   :icon_lol:

I am currently back in college for the second time pursuing a BS in information systems and have been considering following it up with a masters to teach locally.  I work part-time to pay for gas and nights out with my wonderful girlfriend of 2 years!  First woman I have ever been with that doesn't go ballistic over how often I am on the puter..hehe

Looking at doing a few things with the bike real soon.. Airtech fairing with custom molding around twin headlights, 04 rear-end with led tailight/blinkers, and maybe next winter custom exhaust and paint with lil help from local bike customizer friend of mine.  I will bee keeping a lil blog of what is going on with me and my bike at: http://skiggitty.homelinux.com  my home pc so uptime is subject to downtime(I do too much with pc's :icon_twisted:

cheers all

scott s

 Hello all! Newbie introduction here....
My name is Scott S. and I'm from South Carolina. I'm hoping to pick up my first bike ever on Monday. An '05, black GS500F.
I haven't ridden anything with two wheels and a motor since I was a kid and even then it was mini-bikes and very small dirt bikes, so I consider myself a true novice. I plan on taking the MSF course soon, but my Dad used to ride (and race dirt bikes) way back in the day, so maybe he can teach me a little as well. My girlfriend is a new-ish rider (and the reason I'm getting a bike ;)  ) and has a SWEET '85 Yamaha FJ600. She's been tutoring me as well.
My other hobby is air-cooled VW's. I've buil/restored/modified several over the years and own two now. I've had two cars featured in Hot VW's magazine. I LOVE smoking the v-8's and Ricers in my 40+ year old VW!
Love the site and be prepared for lots of newbie questions from me!
Pull the pin and count to what?
