Interested in seeing the exhaust and headlight.

My brother has a service pit in his garage as well, cool idea.
Common sense in not very common.

Well I haven't really finalized either the headlight or the exhaust.... I know I am going to use a full face helmet with either the dual streetfighter headlights or some driving lights stuffed inside.... I couldn't really find a headlight fairing that was under $500 that I liked.  I've seen the pictures of the gs in the ablums (with the helmet headlight job) and decided I like that better than spending mad $$$$ on something else.  Will see....  As for the exhaust .... I would like to do a dual "buell style" set up.... but both of these won't be for a week or so.... I'll keep it posted.

I am polishing the lips on my rims also.....after stripping with aircraft grade stripper....which kicks ass by the way.... I found a bunch of oxidation under the paint.... So I don't know what works for you all, but I sand with 80 grit. This did scratch the rims hardcore but removed everything.  I followed the 80 grit with 320 grit, which made the big scratches more fine, and then finally with a scotch bright pad.  Then I finished with Mothers Aluminum and Mag wheel polish.  The results I think are pretty good ..... You be the Judge :o

Before.... Just Stripping

After sanding and polishing

Don't mind the dirty white paint.... I will be black soon.

For the tail light I will be using this snowmoblie tail light.... I will be shortening the overall length of the tail light like....mentioned in another post.... I'll post finished pictures when it gets to my house....

Looks like the wheels cleaned up good. I have stripped a couple wheels recently and had a similar problem. I just set it aside and stripped another one.

Interesting choice in lights.
Common sense in not very common.

those look like my rims with the purple valve cap!!! But your stripping job was better than mine!!! Would have done better with the wheel being off the bike.

Where is the best place to get aluminum pegs maybe evern anodized colored ones?  I am not really a fan of the big rubber stock ones.

So I haven't really done much in the past week.  But, today I primed the wheels and painted the: swingarm, rearsets, misc fork stuff and the removeable part of the frame.  Pictures are, on there way so you can see the results.  The frame however isn't going to get painted until the X1 tail section is primed and mounted.

gstwizzle

Ok so here is the new tail section....So the going has been slow, but this is mainly do to the fact that I am finishing up my final semester of school.  So next week I should have this mounted and primed.  Then hopefully next weekend I can start painting everything.  I have seen these tails polished, but I think I am just going to paint it so it flows better with the frame. :o

Very farking cool. Where'd you get it? And how do you intend to mount it?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I got the rear tail section off ebay.... Don't know for sure how it will exactly mount, there will be cutting and welding involved.  :dunno_white:    I will post pictures of how it all goes down.
