   Last wednesday I had an issue where my bike stalled out after about 10 minutes of riding.  After that, it would only stay on while I had it fully choked, and if I gave it throttle it would die.  After walking it home, I tried it in the evening and it seemed to run fine (I didn't ride, I just turned it on).  The next day if I turned it on, it would idle really high.  I messed with the idle screw and got it running fine without the choke.

Today, it started up fine and I went out for a ride.  About 30 minutes into it, it happened again.  It died and I could not get it started again.  No :mad:w, on full choke I can get it on for about 5 seconds before it dies.

Any insight about what could be going on?

This happened to me when i first bought my 96 gs.  It turned out that i had rust in my gas tank. And that a few pieces made it past the "filter".  they then block gas flow inside the carbs. When i was running on Rt 92 @ 90mph the gas couldnt flow in fast enough and i ended up stalling twice.  If i waited 5 min it would slowly drip in and i was good to go again for a little while.  I ended up cleaning out my gas tank and installing an inline fuel filter.. Im not saying that this is exactly what is wron with yours but it worked for mine.

could also be a vacuum leak at connection to fuel selector valve, opens a little for idle but not enough for full flow at throttle.  The hoses sometimes pull loose.  My '96 wanted a clamp.

do you have a prime on your petcock ? if so try that setting (besure to turn it back to OFF or ON or it will flood your bike ) and ride it like that . see if they helps any . if any thing pull your petcock out and make sure its not cloged . check the tanks make sure as stated before it dont have rust in it . have you cleaned your carbs lately ? if not maybe you need to take them apart and clean them ..
