Anyone use a set of theses bags (Nelson Rigg SSC-140 Silver Streak Mini Sport Saddlebags
) on their GS500/F, I am considering getting a set just wondering if there are issues (ie :hook the straps UNDER the seat instead of over (ie : so I dont get them stolen...)

they look like this

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

nope, and by the looks of em, you won't either for long.

just enough room to carry your pet tree frog or a fart, but not both at the same time.

from the times i've used saddlebags, it's always a case of bigger is better, and more secure (not rubbing the plastic) is better.

i'd suggest some cheap TourMaster (cortech) bags that you can find on ebay or craigslist all day for $40. they do loop under the seat for somewhat more security. they have front mesh for change, gate passes, etc. side and back zippers for maps, keys, whatever, and alot more space to put stuff.

the newer ones have 3M all over them, and heatshields underneath (not like you need it on a gs)

there, didn't really say 'yes I use them' but hope I helped just the same.

:)

I don't think that bigger is always better. If you don't have some sort of saddlebag suppourt frame under large bags they will hit your tire and wear out. This happened to me.

You can probally go a bit bigger but I wouldn't go really big.

It looks like these bags will fit just fine and stay secure, plus once you have saddlebas on there (even if they're small) you can load up a big duffel bag and tie it down across the back seat and bags.

Umm yes I use them...they aren't mini...they're giant..they make the gs seem like a fiddy...

Its a GS not a harley I dont need saddle bags the size to hide a body in it. or have my 100lbs dog to ride with me in it either.
and if you look at http://www.newenoughhp.com/browse/view_product_images/100 it hass everything you mentioned :)

thanks pastana, I though so.. as for size yeah people think mini, they think too small. I checked the size on newenough.com and I measured it looked fine ( I need them to carry  a few items  when I goto work every day, instead o always using my speedpac).

I easily fit several bags of groceries in each one...in one back i distinctly remember being able to fit a 2 liter of soda, and a 5lb bag of potatoes as well as various small items. I packed enough clothes and things for a weekend trip in them. They're bigger than you'd think. Just don't try and put bottles/cans in the outside mesh pockets..i don't even know what those are for..nothing will fit in them..maybe a can of redbull..

hmm... the third picture looks a little odd. do you normally use them that way ? seems they might open right up with some wind in that position.

There is no way for them to open up...there's snaps and large amounts of velcro I rode a 400 mile trip with them like that with no problems...
