I live in the UK and currently ride a Ducati Monster.

I'm on here as I'm currently re-building a GS500E for my wife who is taking her test in two weeks time. I picked up a year 2000 bike cheap as it needs an engine rebuild - and probably a crank.

I'm from Cairns, Australia - just started riding about 4 weeks ago, Picked up a 2006 GS500E Brand new from the showroom floor the day I got my licence. Now spend my weekends often cruising 70km up the road to Port Douglas, taking in the ocean views

There's a certain feel to riding a new bike on an open road -- brings a pleasant shiver up my spine.

I'm Carlos...I live in Memphis TN...37 years old...married (11 yrs)...one daughter 8 and two stepdaughters 16 and 21.  I just got my GS off this forum last month.  I started riding when I was 15.  I haven't had a bike for 13 years, so I'm back!!!   I ride my GS to work every day.  No pics...but promise to work on it.  Great Forum..!!!!

I'm Bob from Milwaukee, WI. I got my purple '92 GS500 last summer as a learner. It has been a love/hate relationship.

Love: 
Getting 55 mpg
Commuting to work on those warm summer morning
Learning to ride

Hate: 
Having the engine hesitate and die going 70 through city traffic\
Having to remember to turn from Prime to On when I finish riding
Riding a purple motorcycle (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that)

The bike is running now so needless to say I'm back in love. Nice to meet everyone!

Haha, Like I said, not that there is anything wrong with that. 

 

Bob, sounds like your carburetors need a bit of TLC and your tank vent hose a bit of cleaning.  Clear up those "Bad's" and you're smiling ear-to-ear.

Oh, and if you haven't guessed, Pandy loves PURPLE, not that there's anything wrong with that.
