Ok, so I got home last night at about 2am, and sitting in my lawn in the pouring rain is a pretty nice BMX bicycle. I figure what happened is that the bike was stolen from one of my neighbors and ditched in my yard (my house backs up to a private drive that is no longer used for anything aside from joggers/bicyclists and kids starting trouble). My question is what do I do with the bike? I have no use for it seeing as how I'm 6'2" and this thing looks like something a 12 year old would ride. Do I call the police? Post flyers? Leave it out in the yard? If it was stolen then some kid is probably pretty crushed about it, which is why I'm hesitant to just leave it outside from some punk to pick up, but on the other hand, I don't know how to return it to the owner as there are about 400 houses in my subdivision. Lemme know what you think GSTwins...

Or put it away  ( inside house) take out a "found bmx bicycle. call to identify" type of ad, or both that AND pd :thumb:

I like the call to identify idea.

I like the call to identify idea as well....course you might wanna phone the PD and let them know you found it so you won't be suspect.

better idea, call cops and ask if you can take it to the pawn shop.

Bad Karma  :nono:

If you call the cops it will end up with the thousands of other bikes they collected this year and be given away to a charity... its rare that the police get it back to its rightful owner.

The found ad is the way to go.. no one comes in a few weeks to get it.. take it to goodwill or other thrift shop  :thumb:

make a flyer and post it at the entrances of your subdivision.  might be cheaper and faster then putting an add in the paper.. :dunno_white:
