I'm just kicking around the idea of a new seat. I have an 89 with a stock seat that I am not a fan of feel or look. I like the new gs500F seats that have some grip and are a tad wider at the front and it fits with the 2005 tank i have and locks into the bracket. But it is about 2" shorter and shows the under storage. then i thought well i could jus get the new plastic and do a swap which doesn't look hard either jus make a bracket because the way they mount into the side of the frame. I'm jus curious if anyone has ever swapped the older ones for newer? They are a little wider than the E models and would jus like some feedback

Dgyver did it succsessfully.I have seen it in person. It requires welding to be done right. The seat does not fit the frame where the rubber pads are. Here is a link to dgyver's bike. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=39576.0
