I read that someone had to extend there kickstand after installing a katana rear shock, is this correct?? Just want to make sure before I install the shock I bought.

Yeah, Pablo did it. You might not have to, depends how much the bike leans over. I know I'm going to have to lengthen mine because I set the shock to one of the stiffer settings and it almost falls over.

Here's a link, there's a description at the bottom of the page.

I thought I read that the Katana shock only raises the bike about a 1/4".  That's enough to need a longer kickstand?

EDIT: From that link, it sounds like he used a shock from the GSXR, not the Katana 600 rear shock.

I think the reason I have to adjust is that I put on the kat rear shock (one of the stiffer settings), kat rear wheel, and a kat front end. My center stand doesn't even lift the rear wheel unless I put a 2x4 under it.

You can make your kick stand adjustable by cutting 1 inch out of the center of the kick stand. Then tap the kick stand halves to accept threaded rod, with nuts to lock it down.
PICS are GONE never TO return.
