Doesn't Start

So I prepare to leave for work this morning and pull the bike out of the garage to warm it up.  Get it out there and turn on the choke, pull in the clutch, flip the switch, and press the go baby go button.  But where does she go ... nowhere.

It wouldn't turn over or even make a sound.

So now I sit at work irritated because I can't be at home trying to fix the problem, but I decide to be proactive and see if the knowledgable people of this forum could give me a head start on what to look at when I get home.

This is a 1999 GS500E.  If you have any other questions about the bike, let me know.

So knowledgable people what do you think?  What should I look at first?

Any suggestions would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks,
Enya

You make it sound as though the bike was in gear, on the side stand.

We all know how problematic that can be.

Simple, yes, but I'd probably do it  :cookoo:

Nope it was in neutral, so definitely not my issue.

I've done that before, but usually it only takes me a couple of seconds to realize I had a blonde moment and put it in neutral.
