http://picasaweb.google.com/srinath.the.man/ForkBraces# < - I dunno why I am not seeing that previous pic. These pics of course work ...

Anyway, They are 1/2 inch thick.
SS allen button head bolts - similar to stock but longer and better, included for fender and leg.
The braces are 6061 so they can be polished easy.  I did a 2 min job with sand paper on the one and it looks great.
Recently psyber_optix got one from an easlier batch. Ask him for comments.
Cool.

It should prevent the forks from flexing and therefore improve handling.  Also it's got some bling factor.  O0
K&N Lunchbox, K&N Engine Breather, Hella Angel Eyes, Buell Turn signals, Kat 750 Rear Shock, Progressive Springs, MC Case Guards, Aluminum Ignition Cover, V&H Full Exhaust, Ignition Advancer, 15T Sprocket, Srinath Bars, Gel Seat, Dual FIAMM Freeway Blaster horns

ohgood

fixed it

joo gotsta put the -open bracket img close bracket- then your image source then -open bracket /img close bracket- around it ;)

oh, and if ya use picasa you can change the 's460' or 's600' to 's800' and it will be bigger. 800 pixels seems to be the largest they'll serve up. :)

Thanks Oh good.
These basically prevent the forks from flexing or splaying under braking .
These also fit a katana 600/750. The forkbraces are the same on both GS and Kats.

BTW these have one insanely cool function as well ... now since I have not actually implemented it, I cant show a real pic or somehting ... I'll put a pic up, and you guys use your imagination that it is working ...  :thumb:

But you take a hydraulic column off a shock ... you could use a kat/GS one which I will put up a pic in a few days with a mock ... or fit like a single virago rear shock, It has duals ... take just the fluid column (remove spring) and make a eyelet or somehting on the fork and a fitting inside the steering tube with a sorta pivoting mechanism ... and use it for damping ... screw the leaky forks ... forks have spring and the hydraulics are in this ...

Will it work, how good, will it end up looking stupid like a harley springer with the hydraulic BS hanging by the headlight ... good questions ... all good questions ...

Cool.

The other question: when are you going to do it?

The pic or the actual hydraulic fitting on the fork ...
The pic I may do today ... cos I have the kat shocks split and lying about and I have a GS with the brace as well ... so I'll toss it on and take a pic.
Hydraulics from the steering stem to the brace - I doubt I am ever doing it, I am going to katana FE's on many of my GS'es.

These braces are all I am selling, I dont know what or how or anything about fitting a shock in the area between the stem and the brace and I dont know what shock will work either.

I will put a pic up if it will even fit in that area with a kat shock body sitting in the area between the stem and brace. But that's all, I cant source the shock nor can I say what does what. Someone here may ... maybe it will become the new gstwin standard. No clue ...

For now, this is a fork brace, if it will carry a shock, and what it will carry is still TBD.

These are still around, I made a good few of them, there is more than just these 2 in the pic.
They really improve handling and they fit kat FE's as well, so a FE swap in your future ... you can move these over.
In the old days tele-fix braces were the schnitz ... these are the GS specific ones that work much better on these than a telefix.
They can be polished and what not, like I 1/2 heartedly did that one in the pic.
The bolts you see are stainless and are included. Just like stock but 1/2 inch longer.
Price includes shipping. 40 bucks to your door.
Cool.

Call Jeff and "convince" him to get one. He doesn't have one at all on the orange Kat. Now the blue Kat is a whole nother ball of wax. We really need to get together. What's up with the Ken?

I sent the ken a pm one about where to go for snow fun and one about meeting sometime and I even said I had some cool stuff going on we can play with. I got a handle on working on it, just for eyecandy and messing with.
The ken replied to the sno email and ignored the other one.
Maybe we should do it at my place but its another 100 miles for you and I am not even close to as organised as the ken or have the room. I have to do driveway. Anything is anywhere, and some of it is even alive and most likely will take a bite at you.
Ironically kat doesn't need the beefy brace really. Yea it can help but the forks dont twist cos its got 2 disks. Unless one caliper is waaaaaay off as in ... not even working its possibly not going to wiggle side to side. Of course a kat/gs brace also holds the fender on and well, he should have it.
Cool.

These are back. Bolt guy just called, the smaller bolts are in and I had the bigger bolts ... so 40 shipped in lower 48.
Now this set is extra dirty, but they all clean up nice ... I think I'd spray clean em and wd 40 them and send em.
Cool.
