Hi Gio,

I would be very interested in the right front rider footpeg rubber if it is in excellent condition.

I don't need the whole left foot control with the brake pedal, but just the rubber with the metal peg it is attached to that then mounts onto the frame-mounted footpeg holder.

Would you sell that to me cheaply? I can't find one anywhere!

Also if it has stock handlebars and they are UNDAMAGED and not bent from a crash or fall, I'd like to buy those, too.

Let me know???

Thanks,
Trwhouse

P.S. I hope you understand that we are skeptical only because several members have been burned in the recent past by low-count posters on our board.

I hope you are sincere and honest, otherwise, we all know where your shop is now. :)

Thanks, Buddha.
At least now I have a ball park figure to go by.
I have three parts bike that get picked off every so often.

Sometime they just need little knick knack stuff and I'll give it to them for free.
You should see what I give for free on the SV board.

If I wanted to make a killing in $$, I'm definately won't be in the motorcycle business.

Yes, I have that part and bars.
What I have to do is make a price list and post it up.
But whoever PM me or posted here, will get dibs on the item first.
Just being fair.

no worry, about the skepticism. I don't have any reputation on this board. that's why I left my physical address and phone number on the post to ease any concerns.

Well Gio, your $1500 price on the motor, just gave me the idea that you may not know this stuff.
This aint no SV, I am selling a motor out of a GS for $350, only I thought I'd help the man out by pointing him to a motor that is a lot closer to him.
I guess I am parting out my bike then ... and I price them based on stuff that has sold in the last few months here ... marked to market, not marked to fantasy.
And Trw - I have bars ... now that I am parting this bike. Maybe foot pegs too, have to check ... bars for sure, I put mm75658's bars on it just 2 weeks ago and they were cherry 07's. The footpegs are the original ones ... meeeh may not be cherry.
Cool.

Since I'm new to the GS scene, I'll let the market/members dictate the price.
Your guys asked me to give him a number on the engine.
I just threw out what I thought it would be for a motor that's not even broken yet.

Usually, the buyer will haggle me down to a lower number or I'll tell them the price is firm, take it or leave it.

I even told your friend to get your motor, since that is a good deal.

I guess the only edge i have is that everything is great condition and been under cover for three years.

Even if I just sold a blinker out of the whole deal, I'm pretty happy to make some new friends on this board.
I did ride the GS for a one day, but it's just seems heavier than I would like (compare to my stripped down SV)

My initial reason to get the GS was it woud be a good commuter with the riding position and great MPG.

I know you're new to GS scene ... a whole GS can be had for 1/2 that ...

Cover ... broken in etc etc ... yes good ... however so many many of us have rat bikes around here, we put a shiny part on it and its going to look out of place.

Sure all 4 blinkers will sell ... 20-30 shipped. In fact I bought several a few months ago in exhange for part carb work or jet packs. $22 is a jet pack. I got some very nice ones ... I slapped a set on a savage last year, and another set on a nighthawk ... so I was all out.

And ... usually we never dictate anything ... your price is too high, you will not ever hear a word back ... no one says too high $$ ... ever. I thought I'd post that as a range for you to price them to. Anyway ... its your parts and you're free to list it pics, prices ... whatever.

Cool.

Hi Buddha,

Thanks for looking out for me.
If the bars are perfect, then yes I'd like them.
And if the right peg isn't cherry, I'll keep looking. :)
Gio, I'm still tentatively interested in that right rider's footpeg. :)
Best wishes,

Engine on ebay now for $200 and $200 shipping.
With that low miles tho I would say like $500 + shipping
but then I don't need one.
Good luck

I dunno where shipping it will cost 200 ... end to end in US shipping was 129. That motor is in Iowa ... cannot be over 100 to ship anywhere. Now what he's done by quoting high $ for shipping is ... he's killed his own sale price. Price the shipping right and you would get 2-3X the bites and invariably make a higher price ... well higher than the profit you make on shipping. Just experience.
I am selling a 6K miler for $350 and shipping and mine has been sitting for 2+ months ... atleast partially cos I wanted a semi local sale. Like come over ride and buy ... so you know its good.
Between 150 miles and 6K or even 10K in a bike that will last 50K atleast ... and will more than likely get wrecked long before that ... essentially irrelevant. Between 150 and 25K maybe ...
Anyway, as soon as he puts up prices I'll shut up ... after that it becomes thread dumping, and on gstwin, its not entirely banned, its just very discouraged AFAIK.

Last year I bought a 06 GS500 motor with 900 miles on it for 500 plus 100 shipping, for my 05. I wish I would have known about this forum then. I wanted to get a bit aquainted here before I ranted about how lousey Suzuki can be backing their warrenty.

That price is not too bad. The thing is, ebay typically if there is a pattern, like a few sales that have occoured around a price ... tends to be pretty fair.
Ebay weeds out over priced crap almost as well as we do here.

Mr Wilkes

Hi
ive been reading the posts on motor prices and just thought i would throw in my 2c. Bought a 2006 motor with zero miles as the bike was damaged in the delivery crate motor came with carbs, air box, air filter, complete harness including coils ,ecu  and regulator rectifier for $500 and $130 shipping

The Buddha

I may have that beat ...
I bought a 98 seca motor with 6K miles off fleabay 2 years ago - 150 bucks, better yet, a 2 hour drive and brought it back.
I bought a savage motor with 13K that had head and cylinder done (very easy cos it 1 cyl) @removal, 150and $60 shipping. Its also light, lighter than a GS.
Ebay sets a good price range. If you buy it around the $ the sales are, you're invariably not getting ripped off.
Of course there is crap on ebay that sits for years ... like my favorite ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270166238782&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=

Its more $$ than new (was $50 from dennis krook 3 years ago) it wont work on a GS, (need flange which this genius sold off with the pipe, making for another unhappy customer presumably) and I have repeatedly told the moron that this wont work, and send her links of GS500's from our site etc etc and its sat for 2 years on fleabay. So presumably everyone knows it wont work on a GS except the seller.

Essentially a shiny dime aint worth a dirty dollar, and this one - not shiny ...

Buddha weve had a few newbs come in, tryin to act cool, and such. as this guy/gal who knows, sounded like. BUT maybe im being a bit naive. but im willing to adopt a wait and see, as it seems you are doing. but hell you go back a ways as do i. youve seen em, and so have i., the bad ones disappear, the good ones tend to hang around a while. and sometimes never leave :icon_twisted:
