i bought a ratty innerfender for like 20 bucks and cut the whole mudflap off. i kept my pretty little unscathed stock innerfender incase i ever want to go back. i left the mounting things for the signals for now but im gonna cut them too eventually. i love the way it opens up the back of the bike. i bought a licenseplate relocater bracket on e-bay for like 15-20 bucks i love that too. i suggest this to anyone who wants to give the ol' E a sporty ass end. sorry for the hugeness of the pictures.

Looks good, but dont ever ride it in Florida with that swingarm tag mount,  down here thats illegal and carries an INSANE fine.   

Generally speaking I'm not a fan of those swingarm tag mounts, but the fender eliminator you've done looks pretty neat I'd say. needs to be cleaned up a little more,and integrate your signals into the tail light though.

still OK with  because the white light still illuminates the floating licence plate.

The only down-side is ... MY BACK GETS SOAKED WHEN RIDING IN THE RAIN. IT IS AS IF A FIREHOSE IS SPRAYING THE BACK OF MY JACKET AND MY BIKE SEAT DUE TO THE WAY WATER IS KICKED UP BY THE REAR TIRE AND RIDES THE AERODYNAMIC TURBULENCE RIGHT INTO MY BACK...

We suggest the fenderectomy as a first mod.   

Guess there is a use for all that fender, totally forgot that water can get sucked backwards onto your back.

there are a few more states like NC, TN, AL, that use this tag mount as an excuse to stop and hassle you for 30 minutes or more. If you're riding with a pack of buddies, they'll stop the whole group, and do a 'safety' inspection- so if one of your buddies has any reason to not want to be stopped, he's going to hate ya

^ this, and liking the looks of a stock bike 10, 20 or 30 years down the line is why i haven't cut mine yet. cops don't look twice at my gs. could be i'm soooo slow too

yeah im plannind on cutting the rest pretty soon and mounting some little flush signals under the taillight. i dont ever ride in the rain unless i absolutely have to so im not real worried about that. and i thought about the risk of being pulled over when i bought the bracket. but ive put about 500 miles on it without so much as a glance. but i bent the edges out and angled it up a little so u can planely c my whole tag from ten feet behind me. but im sure i will run into a cop one of these days that is anti loud gs with questionaple plate lol. its almost worth it for the unique look though i think

Good to know. I hate the damn things BTW. I think it looks like crap. Its like yea ... we build this $150,000 bike and oops we forgot to fit a license plate on it. OK now where can we slap it on without ruining the paint job. OK there you go.

well my bike is worth less than 2 grand so i think anything to set me apart is ok lol.

i made a brace to keep the turn signals strait. i think it cleans everything up a little bit too it makes it look like the signals and brace r 1 big piece

what are those other two bikes in your pictures ? i hope the white one isn't something i'm not supporsed to like, cause i think i do.

another thing members do is shorten the stalks on their stock signals. helps clean up the look of the bike. also, buell makes a nice looking set of signals, brings up the date (looks anyway) of the gs even more:

buddha u called it thats a scrambler, last years model. dads bike. the gs spanks it lol. but my god it is one of the most beautiful bikes i have ever seen. the lil red one is a rebel 250 its new, mom wanted to feel like part of the gang lol. i hate it noone ever buy one. when u go 60 u feel like its about to blow up and it vibrates real bad.

I cut my 2005 GS500F's rear fender and don't have any problems with rear spray wetting my back.

Maybe the license plate is enough protection?

It's not the license plate...it's line of sight.
