Oddly enough it fired on the first bump of the starter. Even odder was it ran like ass for the first 30 seconds or so, and coughed blue smoke like a 64 impala. After that, just condensation puffs (it was around 28F this afternoon) and it ran well.

Power is fine, and the oil usage is typical (1/2 a quart or more between oil changes for 25,000 miles now)

Am I looking at seals/rings/blah or is it typical to have some seepage in cooler weather ?

(It's going to be around 11F when I wake up tomorrow, think I'll take the truck !)

Sounds like my bike in cold weather back when it was a street bike.

I don't think it's a problem to burn a little oil right when you start it as long as it operates normally after that. Won't decrease the life of the engine as far as I know. But what do I know?
