Hey Everyone!

I'm 25 years old; I was born in Ukraine, migrated to New York and finally landed in Maryland. I bought my first bike (2008 GS500f) last year but only got to ride it once  So I am definitely looking forward to warm weather.

I'm an 18 year old lad named Brian from Australia, born and raised here by my parents after they moved here from Ireland in 1990. My dad has been into bikes since he was 16 (now 45) and has past the bug onto myself and my brother (who is Rossi to me, he's a damned good rider). I started riding (legally) November 13 2007, on my '79 Honda CB250T (go the classics, real bikes some older blokes say) and loved it from the get go. Got my '05 GS500 5 months ago after a sad parting with the Honda, but havnt looked back, as the experience the ol' twin has given me is invaliable. I'd like to think i can ride farely well, well enough 2 keep my dad in sight anyway
Part of the Aussie biking movement. (Can you believe our Government is thinking about returming to front number plates on bikes!!!!!)

Hey Everyone,

I've been a lurker on this website for the past week or so and I finally bit the bullet to sign up and make my first post. 'm new Canadian new rider looking to get my first bike sometime this year. Right now, I'm trying to soak as much information up as I can. So, thanks to everyone for being informative and helpful!

I'm sure you'll see one of my noob questions somewhere down the road...

Mr. BIGGZ

Hey everyone my friends call me Biggz, I just joined the website. I'm from the bay area in Northern California, 30, and have been riding off and on since I was 21.

I used to ride an R1 for several years but had to sell to sacrifice for school. I rode a buddy's 05 GS500F last summer just to ride along with him on his R6 and loved the feel and ride of the GS. Coming from an R1 it was a huge difference in power but I loved the comfort and the motor for a 500. So when he told me he wanted to sell it I picked it up from him for a great price and here I am.

I've found this site very informative and useful. I ordered a haynes manual to do most of the work myself, and have already used the search function to learn about things such as tire replacement and size of rear tire.

My first real ride on the GS was a trip to Laguna Seca to watch MotoGP last summer about an hour and half ride from where I live, I love the bike and am looking forward to picking your brains on the topic.

Hola, My name is Tristan, if you couldnt figure it out. I am 17, turn 18 tomorrow. Been riding my GS500F (first bike) for about 6 months and I am averaging about 2,500 miles a month on it right now. Took it out to Jennings GP in florida and raced the little thing. Considering my short time riding I feel that I am advancing rather quickly, and I have an amazing teacher. My dad has been riding sportbikes for 30 years now. Used to do some racing in South African sport bike championships. I've gotten quick enough that he no longer feels comfortable riding behind me and watching me lean the 500, the skinny tire makes him nervious. I've gotten my knee down a few times, from what I hear a pretty decent feat with a 130 section rear tire and my short time riding. I know people with r6's, gsxr's, etc. who havent had a knee down so I am pretty happy haha. I love my 500 but I am definitely looking to move on. Been test riding tons of bikes (ZX7R, R6, GSXR 600, GSXR 1000, Daytona 675, etc.) and am definitely looking to buy a daytona 675. Racing is definitely something I want to do, but as is always the case I have no money and i start university in June.  Riding is something I have wanted to do since I had the mental capacity to understand it. Throughout my whole life there has always been at least 2 motorcycles in my garage, currently there are 4 (94 Ducati 916, 85 Ducati 600 Pantah, 84 Ducati TT2 Race Bike, and my little GS).  If you didnt notice from that, my dad is a true Ducatisti as am I. Can't wait for the day I can afford one!  :D

Hey Tristen, How tall are you? To slide your knees that has got to be tall. I'm a pretty short guy and i can't lean my 2007 gs500f to where I can slide my knee on the ground.

I am 6 foot, but to do it i am on the very edge of the tire, practically the part between the sidewall and the curved surface of the tire

Hello,

I'm Tim O.   I moved to Knoxville, TN about a year ago.   I've been riding my GS for about 4 years now.  I use it pretty much as a commuter bike.  I would like to do some  fun riding ( well... non commuter riding!   :) )  if anyone lives in this area.   I'm not in to high speeds, just like enjoying the ride and getting there in one piece.  :)

Hi folks. My name is Bilal. I'm 25 and am a H.S. English teacher in New Haven, CT. I bought gs500 two years ago to celebrate my first full year of teaching, but was too broke to get it registered and up and running. But good news, it's finally in the shop and will be up and running within the week. I'm looking forward to a long riding season this year!
