I've seen a lot of dented and rashed exhaust cans on fleabay and have always avoided them.  Does a dent really do anything to the muffler other than aesthetic-wise?  I've seen a lot like this link here to ebay listing don't know if it just affects looks or if will affect how the can performs.

The flow in the trioval yosh is through a square baffle. You start crushing that and it will start to flow less and less. Else it is same.
Cool.

do you guys think this one is dented enough to disrupt the baffle?  it's a Yosh RS3 oval.  it's also got some rash on the tip, but I think I can grind that out.  It's going for just over $50 with shipping.

I have an idea....

If you don't like the cosmetic dents and scratches, any way to weld a tube of stainless steel over top of the canister? Might be more trouble than it  is worth.

since the dents are on the inside of the bike I'm just going to grind out the rash on the tip and leave the dents alone.

When my friend dropped my bike recently the heat guard on the original pipe got scratched badly and dented a little. The solution we've come up with is getting a sheet of carbon fibre and securing it over the top using hose clamps. Figured a 0.3mm thick sheet of carbon would be a lot easier to work with than a sheet of stainless. Haven't got the clamps to fit it on yet but can confirm the carbon sheet is nice and easy to just roll around the can. End result should look similar to an aftermarket carbon can.

I dont know. I wouldnt pay more than $10 or $15 for that. If you look the shown dents are on the back, but if you look closely it looks like the can was bent in half some how then straightened. They moved the strap to take a pic of the back but then moved it back to hide the damage on the front. Ask the seller for pics with the strap taken off. If there is visible damage on the front 9 out of 10 there is a crushed through pipe inside.

if that's the case, I'll file a complaint with paypal and get my money back since the seller says it's just a "little beat up". no big deal.

I got the can on Monday.  It looks just like the pics and the dents aren't that bad.  I can't tell if the baffle is crushed because I can't get the flashlight at the right angle and still see down the baffle.  I'll get it installed this weekend maybe if Buddha can get me the jets by then.  I'll post pics when it's all installed.

Shine the light in the bent end and look down the straight end.
