SteveO and I both proud owners of GS500 would like to invite any GSers in the area to join us for a Mt. Helen ride on Sunday 6/21.    Ride will be within speed limit when SteveO leads.. and if any of us gets an itch for faster twisties we can figure it out....

I would really want to start early though.  I would like to be heading to MT. Helen by 6am at the latest.. would like to avoid tourist traffic that will probably start around 10am.

Come on folks.. represent.. you dont know how much it would be so nice to have a crew of gs500 rollin down the road.

Hey, I might be interested even though I absolutely hate getting up early. Where/when would we be meeting? I want to take my dad along.

I am not big on the 6Am start  :flipoff:
I am waiting for Ryan to get back with me because I am thinking a 9Am start!  :woohoo:
(so the kickstands up time is up in the air)
And I guess we could meet at my house or RMC or Hinshaws Honda?
OK, this will be a speed limit ride   Route is Seatac (my house?) to SR-167 to SR-410 to Orting to Eatonville to Elbe to Morton to SR-508 to Jackson Highway to Toledo to St Helens. The red routes are for quick return if needed, in fact if you really need to get back quick..you can go to Castle Rock and slab it up I-5  >:(

Ryan started this and I am trying to make it work so bear with me  :technical:

I already have clearance from the wifey that I am out on my own all day, so start time is no issue.

I just hope it doesn't rain, if that's the case we will have to reschedule  >:(

Just checked weather for Seattle, Orting, Elbe, and Castle Rock. All show "Few Showers" for Sunday. I would still be in if it's intermittent and light rain.

If rain bike means the one and only GS500f then i support you whole heartedly.   :)  Look the weather been saying yesterday and today would rain.. well it maybe rained for 1 hour in Seattle. the rest was just cloudy. I am positive it will be the same on Sunday. Just overcast.

I rode the 500 on the last all day trip, my V-Strom has been in the back row since last summer, it needs to be ridden, and we have another V-Strom coming besides mine  :thumb:

Thanks for the great ride! I know my Dad and I had a lot of fun. Was anyone else really sore last night? That was a lot of miles for one day, over 350.
Here are some of the pictures that I took:

First real stop of the day:

Near the summit. That was great doing some more 'spirited'  :D riding up to the top with Bluehaze!

Rainy on top:

The weather worked out just fine I think, and SteveO picked a really good route.

nice pics! Why isn't there any great riding here in Fl! This weekend hit 97 here in O-town and with heat index 110! I almost thought my jacket was going to melt on me!
