I have an '89 that needs either new carbs or 4 hours of labor to clean the currently "nasty" (so said the mechanic three times in two sentences) ones up.  If you have a set in decent shape, I'd love to buy them from you.  I think the BS33 carbs were used in all gs500s from 1989-2000.  Thanks.

why dont you take the 4 hrs your self learn a bit about your bike and clean then and save the money for gas or riding gear?  GS carbs are some of the easies carbs you could ever ask to work on.

paging buddha for a potential carb exchange program. Seems there is always rolling interest in some refreshed carbs to make it even more of a business than just jets

Mail your carbs ... clean and rejet to your specs for 45 and return shipping. Of course send me crabs that are black as tar and I'd ping you an extra 10-20 and a few days extra. I'll clean any damn thing ... after this bugger I know I can clean it.

Anyway - my response times are awful these days and I have 5 carbs in front of you ... I will drop it in the cleaner, and get to it later this week.
I plan on thrashing through the first pass on the carbs tommorow. There is 2-3 that will be able to get out, so its getting done.
Cool.

looks like someone left POR-15 in the tank and started up the bike.

oh yah, beckphilly, just clean em yourself. grab some tools and a bottle of carb cleaner spray, a large tray (yo' mommas cookie tray) and start pulling the float bowls off. dont mix parts, be a little gentle with the plasticky bits and the pilot jet, and spray EVERYTHING until it shines with carb cleaner.
