Engine dies coming up to stop signs/lights

I thought I could figure this one out myself but need a little help.

Even after my bike is warm and idling fine without any choke, when I'm driving around town and come up to a stop sign or stop light and pull in the clutch the RPM's drop straight down to 0 and the bike dies.

Once I'm at the light I press the starter and it starts right up, once again idling just fine.

If, when I pull in the clutch I also give it some throttle, I can keep the bike on, but this is very annoying as I am also applying break and its something I shouldn't have to be thinking about.

After maybe 20 minutes of freeway riding these symptoms go away but most of my riding is in the city and less than 15 miles.

My bike is a 2006 with 19,000 miles, Wileyco slip-on and +1 jetting (stock airbox/filter).

Could also be a pinched or  partially blocked fuel tank vent.  Loosen the cap a bit and see if that stops the symptom, then find the blockage.

Turn the petcock (hehe, she said 'petcock') to Prime and see if it behaves.

Hi,its not just a case of clutch drag is it? reason i say is that you mention applying front brake at same time as throttling.

I'm having the same problem.  What is your bike warm-up like?  Does it start right up and warm normally with choke?

Yeah, I have +1 jetting so that helps with warm-up a bit. I use the choke, start it up, let it run a couple minutes and then take the choke off. I'm wondering if the problem could have something to do with the valves. My bike has 19,000 on it and I've never checked them in the 5,000+ that I have owned it. I also have never synced the carbs, I plan on doing both jobs this month.
