Damn I am glad you said that!

I found a great deal on a front end and was about to buy it when I red what Psyber posted.

Hey Buddha, do you happen to know if the '09 GSXR1000 has 320mm rotors?  I have got to match a wheel and rotor combo to the 1000 front end.

Well, I was two minutes too late.  The auction for the 1000 was bought out with BIN.  I am sad cause I spent days figuring out what I would need to complete the swap.

For the same cost I can build up a 600 FE.  So I bought the 600.  Now I have to part hunt to complete the 600.  Oh well I guess.

Back to the point of the thread, the rear wheel.  I am just going to buy a SV650 2nd gen for cheap and make that work.  I basically am going to have a brand new bike sans the motor.  Hell, I might as well swap that out too, lol.

I believe its 310 and a 5mm thick washer set under the calipers will make the GSXR brake calipers fit the 320 mm sv1K rotor.
Cool.

I was just about to bid on a complete front end off an'08 GSXR1000.

I searched for a while and cannot find the fork length.  Does anyone know where to find the specs of 600/750/1000 forks?

Is the difference a big factor?

the k4/5 forks are about 5/8" shorter in length than k6/7... while slightly longer, it's still going to reduce the rake on the bike unless you REALLLLY push them as far down on the upper tripple as possible. that being said, as stated before, the lower clamps are going to be higher up on the fork than if mounted on an SV/GSXR. up to you, you can always get those crazy expensive fork extenders made for those tl-r/s guys who swap gsxr forks in. this also allows for clipons to be clamped above the triple.

also check out swatt raised clipons (50mm). they may be pricey but they are easier to find than tl-s clipons. i have a set of 3.5" rise i'm trying to pawn off to get a set of 1.5" riser
