Is it just the looks.. or is this thing really reliable if i fall on my bike?

It would help in a crash, you'd have to look on the website to see how nice the armor really is, it could just be cheap plastic. I've seen some people ride around wearing things like that, but they usually look goofy. I think it'd be great if you had another jacket or sweatshirt you liked wearing, so you could put that underneath.

I think a lot of things like this, just like those Sidi streetburner shoes that were posted on here a couple weeks ago........

..... are just meant for people who are too worried about their image to wear real gear, so companies try to make something that people will wear, even if it only gives half the protection, because it's at least better than tennis shoes and a hooded sweatshirt.

I have a similar armor shirt like that that I wear in the Oh My Goodness hot weather of Florida. It is CE and EU approved and has a nice back support. It is not uhm tailored toward women though kinda flattens things out! I got mine it is a Nexxo on Ebay for $60.

that jacket looks really overly dramatic, but that's just me. It looks like it needs a SWAT sign.

Ok jealous of Mary's armor...but not so much that jacket. It looks like all plastic. Maybe like a dirtbike piece. I'm pretty sure most of the fox racing gear is light plastic armor. But check around just in case its not.

Yeah I don't think FOX makes street riding gear although I could be mistaken. That jacket is probably meant for dirt riding.

I'd say buy some leather, or a nice textile (both choices with armor, of course), that's meant for street riding. You might pay more, but you get what you pay for.
