He's not paid the $ he said he was going to for the forks I was going to return to him. But he did reply to my PM promtly with a hardship. So he's not stiffed me and disappeared.

However, Its been 6 months. He has other problems and I understand however I am stuck taking care of his forks for over 6 months.

If you're buying stuff from him, I would like to let you know he owes me money and you should put the idea to him that he should pay me.

If you're selling stuff to him, you could remind him that he owes me $ and he claimed he was broke.

That is it. I have been taking care of the rusty dinged forks for 6 months now and I am getting tired of it.

If this is how we handle things now, then...

BEWARE...If you buy from Buddha he might sit on your money for a week or two or ten before shipping the part out.
My 90 GS500E has spread itself across the nation.

The Buddha

Yea ... especially if it needs some serious work. But after I got it done, we had a lack of communication, I said you're selling it, you could sell it and I'll ship to him.

You got your part right - delay is there cos its an engierring operation, and delays are possible. BTW your stem was badly damaged, it was a more lopsided top than he could machine. That stem I sent you was one of mine, it was the best of the 4 I did in that lot. I am yet to get my $ and I am having to keep the forks in good condition till that. 6 months and counting.

BTW I have handled it many times via PM.

I just want to get my $ back and get these things out. I am tired of caring for stuff that is already bad, and is getting worse, cos rust, well, it grows. Then he will complain it is worse than when I got it.

BTW there is 2 people's carbs I am sitting on and one has been with me a year. Your 10 weeks is nothing. Complicated operations may need a strategy all new one that isn't a screw on send out operation.

Is anything I said untrue Joshr08 ?

OK so we all know now what a crook you really are. I dont have to ban you. I'll let this post speak for itself.

And sorry I bought other forks after yours were shitty to fit on my customers bike. I am not putting shiete on other people's bikes unlike you. I had to buy them. I paid 100 bucks for them as well.

Sorry you are wrong on all counts.

I gave you a good way out as well. I found forks in my neighborhood, posted you that link from craigslist, talked the guy down and told you to cover me for that which you agreed in august first week.

Stop lying. Your forks being bad really hurt my response time to someone else, and I bought forks to cover him. You know this Josh, I went over all of this with you back then.

I am sorry it had to come to this, But I did everything I could before during and after to work with you.

Sorry I didn't open them till that time. I even told you right after I opened them.
You know all of this josh, and you said you were going to pay 100 bucks and I ship back. The same 100 I paid for the forks I bought from the guy in my area. August 7-8 th. It was a friday/saturday.

Its all been agreed upon. Only thing that is changing is you acting angry and saying no now.

it took me a month to get mine back.... but then again, it was winter, and i wasn't going anywhere. Everyone has something that comes up... it's best to work it out rather than slander eachother all over the forum. Everything else i got from buddha was awesome, and will probably do business again.

...knowing full well how long it may take. I hope this could be resolved peacefully, couldn't imagine such drama on this forum

You haven't been on the forum for that long then.  Not saying it's drama from the current parties, but drama none the less.

It has been 6 months. I am taking care of his rusty forks and I have construction project comming up @ my house. I gave him plenty of chances, I bought forks locally and he was only going to refund me what they cost instead of over 2 X that amount for all the stuff.
I really really cut him a lot of slack.

Honestly he has helped me with something else early this year. I however wanted to let people know of unfinished business involving him with my original post.

Say I am taking your carbs and putting some crap in them and sending it back - wont you post to say this happened. Exactly. And I would expect you to. Like I have said, carbs sit waiting for various things ... and they sit waiting for me to get off my a$$ too ... When you ask me where your carbs are, I get all mad and leave ... that would really make me a crook wont it.

Sheiete happens. Hence we post about it.

Oh no I have pretty much started fights like this very often.

In fact I remember a good one between pronator and spectroff earlier this year other than this one - which actually started in may really.

The way I see it, there is a reason we buy from this forum instead of fleabay or other places where we dont see it in person.

However as I have dealt with so many many people in this forum I am glad to say, I have been stiffed 1 time before this, and I hopefully have not stiffed any one.

I think its been worse on fleabay. In a way getting rid of crooks is the main task of a forum like this. In a way we are acting like any collective group of people.

1)  This post is unbelievably ridiculous and childish.  I can't believe how immature some "men" on this forum are!  Grow up and handle your differences between PM's.  Buddha, if you dind't want to start something, you wouldn't started the thread.  You're not "watching out" for others on here.  Let people make up their own minds.  Just because you have a bad transaction from someone once doesn't mean they're a bad person.  It just might mean that something happened and you should handle it between yourselves.

2)  No offense, but why does everyone send out their carbs to be cleaned?  I just got a bike this year, rebuilt A LOT of it, and cleaned my own carbs.  Save your money.  Buy a manual and wrench on your bikes, people!  Especially on the easy things.  A lot of people on here are SUPER handy!

Wow.  I'm done venting.  Back to studying.  Ridiculous....

The Buddha

I dont know why people send me carbs ... but its sure is not to just clean it.
The jetting information is out in public however there is still enough people who dont want to tackle it. Many of the carbs have some other issues and when I find em, I explain to them and send pics of what has been messed up. Of course many are straight jet and adjust. In fact I haven't cleaned much in a year.

I am posting this to let people know. That is how this forum works.

This is hardly the first, and like I have said before I have done this when I was not even involved. There have been people who in a serial fashion have stiffed people - any one remember back in 2005 Nick Sunzere ?

Sorry, its needing to be posted, much like we did then about nick sunzere and there was a few more as well. One in Brooklyn with a guy called jessie something or other. 2005/2006.
I dont find stiffing people childish and posting about it even less so.

Cool.

I understand re-jetting carbs and fixing things they cannot figure out.  I'm sure you're cheaper than a garage and a lot of people are pleased w/ your abilities.  My gripe was people that wnat you to clean them because they can't do it for themselves.

Regarding you and Josh, I don't condone either of your behaviors.  While I agree that you have to "watch out for others" when you come across crooked people, I think it's different for each situation.  Like in my situation, I bought an engine off of guzzidude1100i that he claimed was running.  I got it, and it was NOT what he described.  I had to put $150 into the engine to get it running.  All 4 valves were bent, among a handful of other problems.  He told me he would refund my money and then did not.  I not only paid $200 for a non-running engine, $125 to ship it, then another $150 and my time to fix it.  In a situation like that, sure, let everyone know.  But I don't know your situation so i'm not judging either of you.  Oh well i'm done venting....

Yes guzzidude - post in detail about it. If you dont trust me, a different mod could be asked to stop counter misinformation.

The important thing to remember is -

When you sell stuff on the forum, you assume the credibility of the forum. When you buy from the forum, you extend trust to people who are selling stuff. That is why ebay has feedback and buyer protection ... we dont hence it tends to get hashed out PM or public posts.

I dont just clean carbs. In fact I hate cleaning them, eats my time, and I have to switch solvents or other stuff that is in the trough. Like I said, its been 1 year+ since I last did a clean as an important step for someone else's carb.
I also incessantly post about setting carbs, usually in direct response to questions about what its doing. However some problems are beyond some people's scope. Heck I have been stumped a time or 2 in the last year. One time I had a carb where the butterfly was set in upside down. No I dont as much as I can, do things for people that they can do for themselves. I also tell people everythign I have had to do on their stuff. Less than 50% are straight jet and adjust. Some stuff is busted and they cant quite figure out usually and neither can I wihtout it in my hand, I sorta guess on the forum, but sometimes its correct and sometimes not.

Cool.

I have to say that I have sent my carbs to buddha about 5 times now. 2 times for an 89 model and 3 times for my new 96 model. The first time for each bike was for cleaning and the few times after that was for jetting and new parts. I've also bought parts from hime.

Yes I could do it myself, learn and save money. But my time is worth more and I would have to go thru trial and error method of jetting and trying to get things right, although there is a jetting schematic here. Buddha's prices are very reasonable, he always responds to my PM's with updates and the wait time is not that bad. If the part comes back bad he'll fix it again as long as you pay shipping.

So I have nothing bad to say....except sometime I don't understand WTF he's posting.  :dunno_black:
