Where is your source for that being legal?   A security company here got in trouble for having cop-type cars with red and blue lights...  You should make sure of that.  Depending on where you are, impersonating a police officer may be a felony.

My source is my motorcycle mechanics teacher who worked as a vehicle inspector for 7 years.  He is also one of those guys thats into police car restoration.  He goes to conventions, i guess you would call them, where people like him gather.  He restores cop cars down to the last detail. such as a 1992 crown vic police car had such-n-such model light bar and this demensioned push bar on the front and had these wheels with this brand and color of paint.  He goes all out, even has the cab divider to keep the criminal from harming the driver or front passenger and the spot light.  He's got lights like that on all his vehicles.  The way its legal for him to have the light bar (old school light bar, where you could see red and blue even when its off) is by covering it with a vinaly snap cover he made.  He said you cant show red or blue bulbs/lenses in the front, but you can in the back, and obviously you cant turn any red or blues on while driving on the road, or turn any of the siren sounds on while driving.  But its fine to have them on the vehicle.  My class has 9 kawasaki police bikes that the department has donated to the school and hes riden those on the road before and its fine because he puts covers over the two front red and blue lights.  (these bikes are pre-LED era, therefore the color shows even when off.)

also that lawn mower in the background was given to my dad by a kind of not-all-there friend, so we couldnt get rid of it.  i use a gas mower, that one just sits there so dont ask, cause im not ghey

manoj

what make were the original gold painted handle bars

Please straighten up the speedo. That off angle just asks to be straightened.

What's wrong with the mower? Why does a mower determine your gayness level?

haha, and I'm 26 and have used a non-motor mower to cut my grass since I bought my house almost 3 years ago. Apparently I'm too "ghey" for some people.

I had bmx bikes up until 2 years or so when I decided I didn't use them enough to keep them, but I still ride bicycles to work daily, so I'm not picking on anyone for riding one no matter what they do with it, but judging from the mags, 1 piece cranks, kickstand, and screw on rear peg, they're clearly kids bikes. I was just surprised the kid was ashamed of the lawn mower but not the bikes.

Michael

Cant straighten the speedo or else it goes crazy because the angle will put pressure on the gold peice inside which then spins the needle to fast, and erraticlly.  the mower is electric. thats why i said that haha

@Manoj - those were just universal gold dirt bars, 30 bucks from flyncycle.com.  and about the bikes, im only 18, so i still ride sometimes at the dirt jumps, though i havent in a while.

Eklipse

I like how the frame is colored.

As for the lights and siren, the laws are the same in Texas. Nothing prohibits a civilian from having lights and sirens, as long as you don't use them or show them (could hook it up to a bike alarm though, bet it'd be loud!)

You can still be charged with impersonating anywhere, though, even off road. You're an adult now though, so yeah, do what you want  :thumb:

On a side note, I bet some all amber bars like that or maybe half the length could be turned into some very visible turn signals.

Love th speedo setup, the gold frame is kinda weird to me and HEY, there is nothing wrong with BMX'ing. I'm 35 and still bmx with my kids..here's mine.

No rear pegs? How are you supposed to give your friends a pump? :P

Pretty nice, though. Like the red chain. Wish I could get colored chains for my GS, lol.

You can, EK makes all types of color chains for street bikes. I'm running an anodized red one on my GS.

Nice, I'll check into that when it's time for a new chain. How's the color holding up? Does it wear off or get dirty easily?

the color lasts on those, but theyre about $130.

@Eklipse - yea, those bars in the front and back are also amber signals  :thumb: the left front has blue and amber, and the right front has red and amber.  i think both the back are red and amber, but i dont have those colors hooked up anyway.  so yea, for my fronts, when i hit the turn switch, only amber flashes on whatever side i hit, but on my dash i will be puttin in two new switches to turn on the red and blue strobes and I have a push button that changes the strobe pattern. theres 7 differant patterns!  :icon_mrgreen: and i have a switch on the amber ground to turn the amber off when i want to flash red/blue.

I got mine for $80 but that was 4 years ago. Color and chain is still in excellent shape but my bike is always stored indoors.
