nope. Unless you are willing to put another 100$ just in chain and sprockets and then another 200$ in rotors and brake pads. Then "adjust" the idle..really he means the bike idles like shet and it needs the carbs rebuilt.

I am not too much into katana's looks.
I never rode one but heard (and few people here agree) that Katana is like a bus on two wheels. go figure...

even with all that done it would still be under 1000.. seems like a good deal to me lol

i mean u can easily spend more a road bicycle

he says the price is negociable, so mabe offer like 475 lol

Mileage? Does he change the oil on time? Do the tires need replacing? Is there even oil in the damned thing? Find out the answers to these questions and more next time, when OP posts again.

Its amazing what's out there for 1000 right now.  I think you can do much much better, but that's just my opinion.  (I hate katanas so I'm biased   :D  )

I bet he'd take $400 cash, maybe less.  Just don't flinch when he counter offers.  Cash talks right now and that bike probably isn't going anywhere.

It's so bad Suzuki isn't releasing 2010 bikes.  The motorcycle market is in the crapper!  Use it to your advantage.

that's my 2 cents.

I personally love Katanas.  Go to www.katriders.com for info from other owners.  The engines are really durable just like the GS if it gets the right maintenance.  Katanas are not a "sport bike" but it will feel like a rocket compared to the GS's acceleration.  It will feel really big and heavy compared to a GS though.  And you have 2 more carbs and a lot of bodywork to deal with.  And just like the GS, other bikers look down on the Katana.  The price is fair but you may be able to offer him less.  And just like any used bike purchase, go look it over really well first.  Good luck!
