Next Challenge: Your bike next to a roadside storm water drain. That is, the grate/drain thing that takes the water away from the gutter. Like this...

What kind of lame excuse is that? (just up the road, Northampton, MA)

I can't believe I started reading just after the snowplow fail. Would have been so easy...

next up, your bike at a Police Station

Dubwise,

The way I see it... failed challenges can still be completed and get Accredited to you. Just that you cannot pick another challenge when you complete it, is all.

I've found a MacDonald Statue which I plan to get a snap of when next I am up that way. It's an old challenge, sure.

As for Police Station... *I* have no problems with it. And we have two types in my city - large purpose-built police stations and smaller stations called Police Beats (housed in standard retail store fronts or converted houses in the middle of neighborhoods, so they can be On The Beat where the action is). But might I suggest... if your jurisdiction is acting all full on paranoid about terrorism, then taking a photo of a police station might not be in Your best interest. So only take said photo if you feel you won't be Questioned right there and then.

Otherwise...

The Hedge obstructed view from within the station that I was taking a photo. Thus no suspicion created.

Next challenge: Your bike with a decrepit business sign. More than just a tad faded the sign needs to look almost apocalyptic. The more stained, peeled and faded the better. And even better if the business is actually still in business!

For realz, yo. You haven't even seen the wheels yet.
Purple wheels. I mean, c'mon. Who does that?

Neighbor's 80 year old jazz musician father was visiting over the holidays.
His wife saw the bike when I brought it home and said "That's the sexiest thing I've ever seen."

I could probably get a picture of the old Xanadu sign (house of the future) but they tore the building down and left the sign up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanadu_Houses . Or if I had balls I could just drive down Crime Hills ahem! I mean Pine Hills road and probably get killed before my kickstand touched the ground!

Can you guys believe it got down to 29 here last night WTF!

... I don't think it got up to 29ยบ here today...  :icon_eek:

I tried going out the other week when it was like, 16 out?  I was perfectly fine, except the gloves I went out and bought are definitely not for winter riding.  My hands went completely numb after 15 minutes and I had to go home.  I was pretty bundled up, so everything else was fine, but numb hands really complicate the little things like, oh I don't know, shifting and braking.

I think I'll let someone else get this one, haha.

Is this decrepit enough? There was still sign on it a few months ago before the second truck hit it.
Not still in business, though.

Mostly I just wanted to put up a shot of the purple wheels.

Next up, your bike with both wheels in water.

Damn It!

Went for a ride Yesterday with a couple of guys. To some water falls. A bit of water across the road atop the falls. THEY went through. I got photos of one and this Video of the other (34 seconds)

I declined to take my bike through the water. But dang, it would easily have solved this challenge HA!  :icon_mrgreen:

Now for clarification.... does that have to be IN water (puddles, river, ocean, etc.) or ON water (on a wet pavement/road). Just want to know if I can just throw a cup of water under each wheel making the underneath wet and if that will count?

I'll leave that up to your own judgment, but I have faith in you. I'm sure you can do better.

Yeah, I should do better than that... We've got about three feet of water... the white-sold-type (and its still rising with every snowfall).  But I'll let someone else try for the pic on a genuine ride.  I can't see me getting the bike out of the street for another couple of weeks yet.
Don't use both feet to test the depth of a river.

Man... just about every day for the last three weeks it's been raining at some point. Now you want a puddle and not a drop in sight.

BUT... give it a bit of time, I still might have something up my sleeve  :icon_mrgreen:

Unless, time's up already. I haven't looked.
